Yunnan Garden Restaurant is a Chinese eatery located in Hacienda Heights, California. The ambiance features beautiful traditional Chinese decor, while the dining area is clean and tranquil. The service is satisfactory. I awarded it 4 stars primarily for their tea smoked duck—without a doubt, the best I've tasted in eastern California. The skin was perfectly crispy, and the smokiness was just right. I recently tried tea smoked duck at several restaurants in Rowland Heights, but was quite disappointed. Their rice noodles were also good. Overall, Yunnan Garden stands out as superior to many average Chinese restaurants in the area. I will definitely return for that delicious tea smoked duck.
In April 2022, I still love the food here and have had the opportunity to try many new dishes. I’m giving it four stars because it’s frustrating that they continue to use disposable dishes. The food is fantastic, and my friends find it genuinely authentic. It’s well-known for its cold dishes, and you can often spot a tour bus parked outside. However, everything I've tried has left a great impression. I'm a big fan of the Ma Po Tofu (I always ask for extra spice), the boiled fish, and the twice-cooked pork belly. This place is perfect for groups; you can order the favorites and then take a chance on something unexpected.
My go to Szechuan restaurant. Great if you love spicy food. Cold appetizers are always solid and they have the best boil fish in the area. I'd skip the Spicy Wonton. That's one of their few disappointments. And like ALL good Chinese restaurants, if you go there for the service, then you don't really want good Chinese food.

Not a big fan of her rice noodles. Breadh is too bland for me. But love their cold dishes! And must mention that they have very reasonable price.

This is my two-goal place for comfort food, light broth and rice noodles are a great choice.
