Our landlady had recommended this place as one where locals went and this proved to the case. The first time we went it seemed hopelessly crowded, but somehow another table was whisked out in the alleys running alongside the fairly small interior. Our servers were two Nepalese brothers who provided wonderful service under pressure, while never seeming flustered, always finding time for a chat. The food was very good, typifying the Portuguese hallmark of simple food, well cooked and presented and with a very laid back feel. Again, a very nice meal. However, there are a few negatives beginning to creep into the experience. Firstly staff, there is now a constant atmosphere of upselling at every opportunity for both food and drink and it’s becoming very tiresome and irritating. It almost feels coordinated between all staff as they bring unwanted extras, not ordered, and continually check your drink requirements, albeit they are as courteous as ever. Just leave us alone until we need you! Secondly, sadly price increases on food have become substantial, so it’s no longer the good value it once was. Still worth a visit though, just.

Pequeño restaurante en Tavira sin pretensiones excesivas, pero muy buena comida casera, como arroz con pulpo o bacalao de la casa. Personal muy correcto tanto en tratamiento como en servicio. Precios muy ajustados

Nice local food, the specialities are worth to try. Good prices and nice staff. Been here twice while staying in Tavirna. Most of the time fully booked or come early or make a reservation.
