I had been meaning to check this place out and was so happy I finally did. The vegan options are plenty and clearly marked on the menu. I purposefully over-ordered so I could try a lot and bring some home: falafel salad (with a ton of veggie sides, including some amazing roasted eggplant), ful medames, dukka fries with aswani chili sauce (which went great with the ful), the mixed pickles, and mint limeade. Everything was so flavorful; this was one of those places that really surprises your palate. Yes, you have had a falafel salad before. Lamb panini with tahini spread was a light but filling sandwich. Ate half and had the second half later as a snack. The service was friendly and accommodating. If you're not familiar with the ingredients, ask the staff, and they'll explain it to you. The seasoning they use are a blend it's not just salt and pepper. One of the worst experiences that I went through in New York .. I was hoping to find a restaurant with traditional Egyptian food, but I was disappointed, because everything is bad from the beginning of the service, which I cannot evaluate because it is not available from the beginning .. to the food .. I ordered Egyptian Koshary, the ingredients are very poor and overcooked , It is mashing..it lacks all the flavors completely..besides that its price is too expensive for its taste and ingredients..I do not recommend it to anyone at all
Eggplant falafel sandwich so goodd!! The falafel itself is the best in NYC out of all other places. The eggplant and the sauce is so creamy, and the vegetables inside are crisp and fresh.The worker I ordered from (with piercings) was so nice too, I came in 5 minutes before closing but he still took my order and was really nice about it.If you want true authenic Egyptian street food you should 100% at least give this place a try.
My partner and I got two different types of pita pocket thingies. They were very tasty! We also got some Dukka fries with tahini sauce which went really well together. The establishment itself is hip and cool, everything was paper, and no single use plastics.
The taste was exceptional, featuring a crispy exterior and a flavorful, moist interior. The balance of mild and zesty flavors was perfect. highly recommend trying this falafel.
