Wow! This was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. I had the mushroom risotto special with duck. The fresh bread and salad before entrees was delicious with high quality olive oil and vinaigrette. The service was excellent. The chef came out to say hello afterwards which was a special treat. He told us more about his eclectic background and his approach to cooking which was fascinating. We were visiting from Portland. I think we will make a special trip to this restaurant when we come back to Seattle. We walked here from our hotel in the University District and it was a lovely walk through a nice residential neighborhood.
5 of my family members and I had a fantastic dinner at Zouave tonight prepared by Abe, owner-chef. Between the 6 of us, we had many different entrees as well as the delicious mushroom soup, a wonderful salad and an appetizer. I ordered the seafood paella, which was spectacular. We all loved our dinner and were thoroughly entertained by Abe. Zouave is my favorite restaurant in Seattle!
What a gem. We stopped by late on a Tuesday night and Abe, the chef/owner welcomed us even though the waitress and dishwasher had already left for the evening. We had a wonderful experience and fantastic food shared a salad, two mains, and homemade tiramisu for dessert. Highly recommend the current weekly special of the mushroom risotto absolutely delicious!
This is a delightful, unassuming little neighborhood restaurant. Went for my husband's birthday and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our waiter was great, and super friendly. We had a yummy eggplant starter, chicken marsala, and seafood paella. All tasty. Prices were very reasonable, given how expensive everyplace is these days. We will for sure return. My favorite restaurant in the greater Seattle area. Chef comes around to each table. He is more than happy to accommodate dietary restrictions and special offers. I always feel like he has invited me over for a home cooked meal. I highly recommend this hole in the wall!
Love this lil gem of a restaurant! Truly a family feel, Abe master’s paella, pasta, and more. Cozy indoor seating, nice covered patio out back, and most excellent bread and tiramisu all baked from scratch!
Fantastic food, personal attention from the chef. Homemade bread, best mushroom soup ever. delicate seafood. complimentary aperitif and dessert. This place does not disappoint!
