Lovely lunch at Bar Zulema this Sunday. Having visited this beautiful Spanish village on numerous occasions over the years we are aware how busy it can be. We therefore arrived at 1pm an hour before the recognised 2-4pm lunch period. We were astounded how busy all the restaurants were...maybe as it was Palm Sunday. However thought we would try this restaurant but expected a lengthy time to wait for service due to how busy both the inside and outside terraces were. What a pleasant surprise to be seated and served so promptly. Also , unlike many Spanish restaurants in the region Tapas were being served on a Sunday..ideal to sample the extensive menu. This place is in the centre of the village. The inside is rather dark, full of locals, and unwelcoming although there are some interesting photographs on the wall of activities in the old village which are worth viewing. We went with our guide but I did not gain the impression that it was a particularly touristy restaurant. Most will eat outside and the service is fine. Basically the food is tapas and fairly ordinary but perfectly edible and enjoyable especially if washed down with a glass of wine. You can order food as tapas or main serving but they are all large. You will not come here for haute cuisine but for a rustic meal with the locals and hopefully no tourists. The bill for 3 was €37...
We had lunch at this establishment on a warm afternoon. It looked very attractive in the town’s main plaza. Things didn’t start well when we were yelled at for trying to move a table and two chairs into the shade. Our drinks and first course of food came promptly enough, then we waited, and waited. I eventually had to hunt down a waiter to order dessert. Our dishes were tasty enough, especially a lamb stew, but there was no attempt to present anything with creativity merely a slop of food on a plate. After waiting again for a bill to arrive, I ignored the temptation to walk off and see if anybody was interested, but I finally headed inside to disrupt the conversation and find somebody to giv...
Set in a quiet square with a lovely view of the surrounding hills even saw some eagles fly over head. Bar was full of locals , always a good sign. We sat outside in the square prompt service and Menu Del Dia was very good value. Maybe not as touristy as the main square but a better flavour of the town.
Standard tapas. Nothing special, quite average. Surrounded by locals, we expected more. The village of Grazalema is worth the visit; this Bar Zulema, is just a place available to postpone that hungry feeling while you are strolling around.
In a small square the friendly Zulema offer menu del dia and excellent taps. We ordered two drinks, tortilla de camerones excellent) padron peppers and chorizo all of this for 10 Euros. The service was good and the setting great...
We had not even the chance to order any food. After 40 minutes waiting and being ignored we decided to leave the place. We found another restaurant in Grazalema, with friendly Service, where tourists are welcome.
Desde que llegamos hasta que nos fuimos . Todo perfecto el ambiente si gente . Y sobre todo la comida y la buena atención recibida por parte del personal que trabaja aquí.
Very unfriendly staff. We were ignored when we tried to order and eventually gave up. I thought tourist would be more welcome. What a way to run a business!
