Visited for Mothers Day expecting something special after reading reviews. Once we sat down we were greeted by a young waitress who struggled to take our order. My wife had to repeat herself several times. Had to ask for water as our drinks never arrived at the same time. To make matters worse our meals never arrived together, it was a further 10 minutes once others received food until my meal arrived. The food itself was small, lacked middle eastern flavours and was bland.We left the restaurant feeling hungry and frustrated having spent a lot of money on well below average food.We certainly won't be visiting again. Fancied arabic lunch so went to 1001nights , the menu was very interesting and varied, there was so much to choose from we didn,t know what to have , the waitress suggested going for the shared banquet made up of a mixed platter of entree dishes for two, and then you choose any dish from the chargrill, we had the istanbuli kebab and beef tikka.The entree was huge and fantastic, it had dips ,falafel , croquettes vine leaves and rice,The lamb kebabs were terrific, tasty sauce, and salad.Beef tikka was tasty tender and with a lovely sauce, drinks well priced ,and the staff excellent the ony problem was no air conditioner, and as the door was open some insects.Going back!!
This restaurant is more than just a lovely place to eat with friends or family 1001 nights has a unique and welcoming atmosphere that is worth exploring. Go on the right night and you are delighted with a visual and auditory sensational experience of belly dancers joyfully dancing around the restaurant who will beckon the bravest to join them in a dance. The food is delightful and has some truly unique flavours. Staff are friendly and courteous and the bill is pleasantly reasonable. Definitely will recommend. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with friendly faces and shown to our table. We were a group of 8 with a mixture of diets including vegetarian and Gluten free and they recommended the shared platters to start. Amazing huge platters with plenty to go round. Belly dancer appearance during the evening, with cocktails to finish. Amazing decor and atmosphere. First time to the restaurant for Mother's Day after reading the reviews. Having travelled to the Middle East many times, the food was an insult to the cuisine. I ordered the Istanbuli kebab...the meat was delicious, the rice and salsa bland, even the kibbeh lacked flavour and the Harissa was tasteless. Poor service, meals and drinks did not arrive together so we felt awkward for those who had to wait for some time for theirs to arrive. Left feeling ripped off and unsatiated.
I didn't think I liked middle eastern cuisine but friends asked us here so we went along. I was pleasantly surprised. We had the shared banquet (which I never get to do at restaurants as I'm so picky and vegetarian) but I actually enjoyed all of it and the dolma, falafels and halloumi tikka were all delicious. The decor was nice and the service was great. I would definitely recommend to others especially if you're not sure if you like Middle eastern food!
I have given this place three opportunities and on all occasions we were disappointed with the food.I am accustomed to eating Middle Eastern food, however the dishes that we have tried although were the same as other restaurants the case was bland and nothing like the other places.I am so disappointed with the food that I can't even give this one star.

Mark and his family bend over backwards to make your visit hsppy and entertaining, the menu caters for all tastes and the morrocan decor is very appealing.
