The steak was really good, not flawless though it had a bit too much char and not enough salt but it was tender and topped with delicious seafood.. I should clarify that I am extremely picky about meat quality so I have a very high bar. The tomato blue cheese appetizer was the best thing I've eaten in the last month and I'm not typically a big fan of blue cheese. After waiting at least 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order we had choose the house margarita. The person taking the order offered the change to a better tequila for a small up charge and we agreed. Drinks arrived and then another long wait toorder our food. First time customers (my aunt and myself).A quiet and quaint restaurant with a soft ambiance.We started with calamari and shrimp bisque. Both were amazing however the temp of the bisque was not hot enough. The calamari on the other hand was mind blowing. Auntie Kells had a Margarita. This was our first time here. When we got there it was empty except for one other table at 6pm. Then it filled up pretty quickly. The atmosphere is so cozy and romantic. We started off with the flaming cheese. It was good. Different. Our table ordered the ribeye, orange roughy, etouffee, and beef Wellington. All were delicious. We had the lemon drop, coconut rum margarita and a dirty martini. This place is pricey but very nice for a special occasion. Give it a try . The service was fantastic as well.
Brought my wife here for our 10th anniversary. I could not have picked a better place. Our waitress was fantastic and made sure it was a special day. My lamb steak was cooked to perfection and my wife loved her 1424 Wellington. I will definitely be returning soon.
Excellent food and service. Scallops and lamb were cooked perfectly. Great atmosphere, would definitely recommend. Only complaint is the napkins had a slight odor like they were left damp for too long after washing. Otherwise made for great datenight.
The food was terrific. Our waitress, Leah, was so helpful in helping us pick out our meal. She was spot on on all her recommendations. Just sorry we were too full to try desert, maybe next time we go to Waco.

The food was very very good. Our server was very kind and very prompt. Went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. I'm from Charleston, SC but will recommend this place to anyone I know that visits.
We’ve been to 1424 on several occasions and have always found the food and the service impeccable. It’s our go-to place for a special night out.
