Before visiting Castleton for the weekend, I read reviews advising to make restaurant reservations ahead of time. After seeing positive reviews and reasonable prices on TripAdvisor, we decided to book a table at 1530. It turned out to be a great choice. We enjoyed everything, from the ambiance of the restaurant to the friendly staff, and most importantly, the delicious food. We have recommended it to our friends and would happily dine there again. I have my eye on the slow-cooked beef dishes served on Sundays. Thank you, 1530, for a wonderful experience.
Lovely food, all the courses we had were delicious the beef short rib etc for the Sunday lunch was particularly nice. Service was a little slow but the staff were very apologetic about this and removed the desserts from our bill. Desserts were also delicious. Cosy restaurant with nice lighting with a very central location and helpful staff. Only suggestion is that the toilets definitely could do with some TLC they are clean most definitely but need some tidying up/refresh.
The High Peaks have plenty of wonderful pubs and cafes that do very good food, but there are very few restaurants that serve good food and drink in a very romantic setting. The 1530 is Castleton is wonderful. The drinks, the choice and quality of food, and service was on point. And the best surprise was the cost. Excellent value for money, based on what was ordered. Looking forward to returning for another lovely dinner. Book early to avoid disappointment.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. It is cozy and welcoming, with outstanding staff who are very helpful. The food was incredible, with delicious starters and amazing main courses. The menu offers something for everyone; my husband tried the Sunday dinner and it was superb, especially the bone marrow gravy. I am looking forward to going back and trying more options on the menu. We absolutely love 1530 restaurant, it is one of our favorites. Whenever we are in Castleton, we always make a point to visit. Every meal we have had there has been outstanding. The staff is wonderful and the food is delicious with a fantastic variety to choose from. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Our first visit to Castleton and after reading the many great reviews of 1530 had to visit this restaurant. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and a fantastic menu. We chose vegetarian and vegan pizzas. They were delicious. Would definitely recommend and cannot wait to return.
Delightful restaurant, run by very friendly, helpful, and attentive staff serving extremely tasty food in lovely surroundings. The excellent wine list is an added bonus. Made the 90-minute journey to meet friends who travelled equally as far more than worthwhile. John and Liz(Doncaster)
Booked a family meal to celebrate our daughter’s visit from Australia. We were staying in the village and they were very accommodating with our request at the last minute. We had a lovely meal at 1530, the service was just right, the food delicious and the wine was great value too. There are some very different meal choices on the menu too, so able to try something new.
