Lovely restaurant, set in a beautiful building. Quiet evening, which meant we had the upstairs seating area entirely to ourselves The food and drink all evening was amazing, and the service was excellent throughout. There was a lovely atmosphere throughout with the sounds of piano music, and silent movie projected onto the wall. Made to feel welcome all evening by the excellent staff and was just nice to sit down and not feel rushed. Will be returning very soon. Thankyou
The restaurant has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. The renovations have been beautifully executed, preserving the building's character. The food was absolutely exquisite; it was, without a doubt, the best meal I've ever had. The quality, presentation, and taste were top-notch—kudos to the chefs! We feel fortunate to have such a fantastic restaurant nearby. Thank you for a wonderful evening! I can’t recommend Restaurant 1840 highly enough.
Our experience at 1840 was a bit of a mixed bag. The service was welcoming and the food was delicious, with good value for the money. However, the downside was the temperature. I was seated next to a large window and was chilly throughout the night. Other diners even had to resort to putting on their jackets. I would consider returning, but only when the weather is much warmer, so I can fully enjoy their tasty cuisine.
Menu wasn’t very inspiring and not what we were expecting; food was ok but nothing special; only 2 other people in the upstairs part of the restaurant, where we were, so there was little or no atmosphere; we had main plus desert thought that £30 for 2 courses was overpriced (by about 25% not great value for money for what we had and our experience overall… Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Our first visit last night and we really enjoyed it, the refurbishment of the church was lovely. The food was amazing great quality wonderfully cooked. Our waiter was just fantastic attentive without being intrusive. We shall be back and highly recommend
Arrived and was warmly greeted by the manager. Ambience is lovely, service was good food was well presented and delicious. Will definitely be returning. Big thanks to chef and her front of house team. Well done.
Fantastic as always, really good food and service. A real gem tucked away in the community, if you're looking for good food at a proper restaurant then this ticks every box, you won't be disappointed.
