We were lucky enough to get out for a date night and decided to try something different, so we ventured into Gordon to try out Two Stews and a cockatoo. Based on the website we were expecting it to be set up like a wine bar, so we were a little disappointed that it was set up like a typical restaurant.All dishes are entrée size * (priced between $8 * to $32) and we were told you need to order 6 dishes to be able to satisfy two adults. We were trying to find somewhere to eat after travelling out of the city after watching the swans. Rang one place from the train - no answer - 2nd choice 2 stews. They answered were very friendly but fitted us in. We arrive, low and behold the 1st choice was just across atrium and not very busy - 2 stews was humming.We ordered 4 tapas dishes and they were amazing and they came out quickly and spaced at a nice pace. The staff were delightful - all in all we were very glad we chose 2 stews - great work guys!
The name of this restaurant is novel - The two Stews are the proprietors and the Cockatoo is a stuffed Cockie on the bar.The menu is amusing with novel names - essentially it is a tapis style restaurant and best for two or more people to share several dishes that are brought to the table sequentially.The wine can be bought by the glass or bottle or samplers called Mixed FlightsWell worth a visit and fills an evening in an entertaining way. This is the second time we have eaten here. It’s a very cosy restaurant either eat in or sit outside in the courtyard. The food is very tasty, good wine selection and the wait staff are very friendly and accommodating. If you want fizzy water there is a $5 a head charge and is unlimited. We had a selection of tapas dishes very moreish, the menu is very good. For desserts we had the churros and Chocolate Meringue burger with liquorice ice cream which was delicious.

A real buzz and vibrant atmosphere, A classy and different restaurant/bar. Food really tasty and varied and excellent wine list. Tuesday is I think byo, but check. Staff most attentive and helpful. Lovely indoor/outdoor atmosphere with bright atrium. Excellent coffee to complement a scrumptious meal.
Have dined here in small and large numbers. Consistent service and feed is always creative and tasty. Don't let the quieter ambience mid week make you think they have lost their mojo - they haven't - its always been consistent and a great local wine bat with delicious food morsels!
The place has lot of characters although the costs are on the higher side. It is not for everyday for us but I am glad there is such a cute and cultural place in Gordon.
A little Gem in Gordon, great people, fab food , and terrific wines, just cannot ask for more.Friendly welcoming place that is full of life .

Great options with unique ingredients in stylish share plates. Desserts on offer were few, so a bit of a let down. But will be back!
