I decided to try 306 BBQ while visiting Florence because one of my professors at UNA mentioned it in a math problem (yes, really). The restaurant has a nice ambiance and is located in a great spot, plus the staff were friendly. However, the BBQ itself was quite mediocre. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, and while it wasn’t bad, it didn’t stand out in any way. There was little smoky flavor, and the sauce tasted very ordinary. The mac and cheese I ordered as a side was also disappointing; it lacked flavor and the pasta was overcooked. On the bright side, the prices were reasonable, especially when compared to BBQ joints in Birmingham, which can be quite expensive.
Update: I decided to give this place another shot, which was a mistake. Google states they’re open until 10 PM, and their website confirms this as well, but their front door indicates they close at 9 PM. I arrived shortly after 8 PM, only to find that they had already stacked the chairs on the tables and were only offering takeout. I don't understand why they have such a large dining area if they can’t accommodate customers. I drove nearly an hour from Tennessee for this, and I'm really disappointed. I've lowered my rating to two stars.
I had a great experience at this restaurant! The service was quick and friendly, and the food was fantastic. I dined in for lunch, and found that the prices were reasonable, around $10 to $20 per person. I give the food, service, and atmosphere top ratings of 5 stars each. I highly recommend trying the Ribs Half Slab and the Baked Beans!
Love the atmosphere and the service is always decent. Wings sometimes are hit or miss. They are smoked then fried, there is a science and sometimes, that science fails. I can NOT say anything about the food. The hostess was playing with a dog. The place was empty. Not one person. It felt cold and like a fast food place. We were exhausted from traveling and wanted to sit down in a nice atmosphere, etc. We left and went next door to a Mexican restaurant. The place was packed, food great.
Excellant service and the food is very different which is great. There was several of us....from the nachos...baked potatoe.....and chicken strips. No leftovers!! The food was mediocre. We ordered three kids' meals, a rib platter, and a fish platter. The ribs weren't well-seasoned, and the fish was overcooked and lacked flavor. I really dislike leaving negative reviews, but this meal was quite disappointing.
Just wanted some good smoked wings and these didn't disappoint. They were good and hot. These wings had some crunch to them, just perfect. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
