Six-Mile is the top dining choice on the west side of town. The main issue is consistency; you never know what to expect regarding service and food preparation from one visit to the next. On the bright side, the quality usually ranges from very good to just okay, but it’s never bad. We visited for my birthday. The good news is that they serve a decent martini. The downside is that it wasn’t ice-cold because it wasn’t shaken enough. The good news is that they offer great sides, like mashed cauliflower, but unfortunately, it arrived lukewarm. We have dined here frequently and I have previously written very positive reviews. However, our experience last night was disappointing. The service felt inexperienced, which is understandable as everyone has to start somewhere. Unfortunately, it was also quite slow. My halibut was overcooked and seemed to have been kept under a heat lamp for too long, rendering it rather cool. Despite this, we'll likely return due to its convenient location.
The 6 Mile Chophouse is our go to neighborhood restaurant. We can walk easily. Wine down Wednesday is a plus but it is still our place to go. The wine list is good (albeit not always every selection in stock). The food is good and diverse typical chophouse, American fare. We have always been treated well. They have always stood by their offerings. This is certainly one of the better places on the west side of Lawrence.
Anniversary dinner. They gave us a free dessert which was very nice of them! My steak was ordered medium and came out as well done. They offered me a salad to eat while they remade it. Came out a perfect medium. No complaints!

You of the best KC Strip Steaks I have had ANYWHERE!! Service was superb. And desert was almost indescribable. Great atmosphere as well.
We have come once a year for the past 5 years .. it’s always a wonderful experience. We look forward to it each time we are in town.
Overall good experience my steak ordered medium rare was more medium but other than that it was a good meal
