808 Grindz Cafe offers great food at a very reasonable price, especially considering it’s on the Big Island of Hawaii. The portion sizes are standard, but the menu has a good variety to choose from. During our visit, they were undergoing renovations, so we couldn’t eat inside. Since this spot is frequently reviewed on YouTube, we decided to give it a try. A friendly gentleman at the front took our order, and we waited about 10-15 minutes. There are three tables outside where you can sit and enjoy your meal. As we waited, more people showed up. Parking was ample, and there are several other shops and food options nearby. It might be a bit tricky to find, so I definitely recommend using Google...

More and more people came by while we waited. There were plenty of free parking and bunch of other shops and food venues around. It may be a little hard to find, but for sure use Google maps.
I ordered the short rib plate and was very disappointed. The meat was burnt and mostly consisted of fat. The table I was at was quite dirty, and there was an open trash can right next to it, which was very unappealing. While we were eating, an older gentleman working there kept mopping the counter with a dirty rag and hovered near our table, seemingly waiting for us to finish our drinks so he could clean up. I strongly recommend not taking your family to this place.
Heavy but tasty. 808 is a family-run restaurant with take-out only service. They have seats outside, but the parking lot setting will heat up fast. We ordered a variety of mocos and Benedicts. The smoked meat moco was recommended by the owner. We also got a Benedict trio, a kalua hash Benedict, and the Portuguese sausage moco. All super tasty, salty and rich. Will definitely recommend, but probably after an afternoon or activity.

Chill Spot is located in a mall and offers a convenient option for takeout, so you can enjoy your meal elsewhere. However, if you find available seating, there are a few chairs and tables outside where you can sit and eat. The customer service is outstanding! The gentleman who took our order was friendly and provided great recommendations. Our food was absolutely delicious! Just a heads up, they only accept cash.
Fantastic experience! We stopped here for breakfast, and the service was quick while the food was amazing. I had been struggling to find good food during my trip, but this place completely changed that. I ordered the coconut pancakes with coconut syrup and a side of hash—absolutely delicious! The only downside was that they accept cash only.
No frills, casual, friendly place. Food is fantastic, the pork options are super savory, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. We also got the waffles with vanilla, macadamia nut sauce was fantastic. The staff were super friendly, helpful and welcoming. Even noticed someone mention they had the best steak of their life.
I visited 808 Grindz Cafe to try some authentic Hawaiian cuisine. One of the staff recommended the Pork Adobo, so I gave it a try. It turned out to be one of the best plate lunches I've ever enjoyed. The fried rice and macaroni salad were also fantastic. Thank you, 808 Grindz!

Great food! Great price. We had the eggs Benedict and Kahlua pork moco (rice and 2 eggs of choice). The servers were very pleasant. Gluten free options. Cash only. Limited seating. Served in to go boxes. Totally worth it!
