a wonderful location, but service and eat really terrible. “Madame” about this catastrophe, ugly charming, at the side of the unfortunate customer to accuse their service staff. but they owe the kitchen the debt. I wondered if the no credit card policy reveals the real problem. here that they are all in the grip of the mafioso, which obviously still has quite a hold here. the effect on us was it took old to let our orderings then run out a few good 20 minutes, which one would have a choice (from a simple 6 option menu), then another 15 minutes to say one of our other options had also expired. What a disappointing and depressing experience from staff who just weren't interested, couldn't have been less bothered. If they were anywhere other than somewhere that wasn't such an obvious tourist trap, I doubt they'd be in business. All in all, you'll be able to find...so many other places to part with your money. For us, family of four inc 11 and 14 year old children, we paid 70 euros which for the quality of the food was way over price. They were completely inflexible when asked if they could simply grill a chicken breast for my daughter rather than put it on skewers. The staff all seemed to sit around and watch us eat but never came to see if we would like another drink/needed anythin...
Erbalunga is alas comprised of eateries all vying to part visitors to this popular and probably at one time quaint harbour village. It is still worth a visit, it's a sweet place, but it is just outside Bastia, and so seems to have become more...a sit outside and eat place rather than a tranquil harbour town. There is good reason why A Catala always has tables, it's rubbish. Service is barely above insolent and inattentive, but that is nothing compared to the really flavourless dare I say pointless food items in e name of omelette that arrives, with a tiny undressed salad. Same situation as described in many of the reviews: we arrive late, big party, this is the only place with space left. Suspicious, yes. The kids had crepes which they liked, and honestly: you cannot go wrong with crepes. The adults tried the Bruschetti and...the melon/ham. Bruschetti lacked flavoring even salt, feels like very basic capabilities missing in the kitchen. Ingredients were good quality. Service slow and forgetful but friendly. Despite the poor reviews and given their age, we approached this cafe with some trepidation yesterday. But no need it was fine. Yesterday we shared a Parma ham type dish with some local cheeses. They were very good. So much so we went there again....There was an aubergine dish and tomato and mozzarella again good. This place has a menu with light lunches available unlike many/most of the others. So if you don’t want to blow your kite at lunch you could do worse than go here.
This was the worst food we had on our recent trip to Corsica. We could even see it coming but it was 2pm and we hadn't had lunch and the only other restaurant in town was full. But still, it was just so bad it...was surprising. My salad had old cheese and chunky, chewy slices of proscuitta with no dressing and no bread. Husband' omlette was overcooked. Service slow. It's hard to believe that the cook cares at all about the food being put out. It's really shameful.
the last night of our holiday in brando (very picturesque small holding place and worth a visit) and had a selection of several restaurants, but chose a calata first because I tied a final crepe! however, the choice prices inspired. because the main meal was excellent as the service was and (I must say) so were also the above mentioned crepp! limited menu, but I guess that is intentional to focus on the quality.
For a little while now, I order a pizza to take away, nothing to say! products are always fresh and of quality, warm welcome and the deadlines remain reasonable. If I had to give a point of improvement, finally pizzas tend to be a little too fat, which can cause some bloating. they read all reviews, but after we had some excellent fresh and excellent crepps and coffee. so good that I had another one. we're going back, I hope they were as good as I was home.
