Afternoon Tea at Royal Berkshire

Would not recommend. Spent 2 nights here for special occasion Rooms are fusty and smell. Service for breakfast incredibly slow and had to keep asking. We had Sunday lunch and waited 35 mins before someone appeared to take our order and then when they did appear they went to another table to people who came in long after us. The food wasn't cooked properly and was cold Staff members had no knowledge. Most spoke very little English and had no knowledge of local area Looks good on website but would give it a miss

The food and service were good, but unfortunately there was a wedding happening at the restaurant. At one point, the doors were left open and we were disturbed by loud Scottish reel music and the noise of dishes being cleared. They began clearing tables around us while we were still eating, which was not conducive to a cozy dining experience.

We had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch with our family. They offered a good roast option as well as a vegetarian option. The menu was not extensive, but I liked that as it indicates that the food is more likely to be made fresh. We will definitely be returning.

We made a last minute booking after a long day at Legoland. The food was lovely with a varied choice and a separate children's menu. The service was spot on, not obtrusive or lacking. A very pleasant experience. We'll return if we're in the area.
