It was not too packed when my friend I arrived. Pretty small restaurant, 1 server, and a small kitchen. The Yelp menu is not the same as the restaurant menu btw (some items available on Yelp menu, not on the in-house menu). We were able to get a table right away. There was only one server on the floor. He was diligent and nice but took a long while to greet our table and was not very attentive during meals. Appetizers came before our hot teas. We ordered a miso soup and an avocado roll, and the Agedashi Tofu app. I Would NOT recommend the Agedashi Tofu! The second the server put that dish on our table, I legitimately thought I was being served... weird bananas? Overall: tasted okay, super so...
I arrived on a Monday evening and was pleased to be seated immediately, with no wait time. The soft shell crab appetizer caught my attention and it didn't disappoint. Cooked to perfection, it struck a great balance with its well-seasoned batter. The sushi rolls were also a hit. The Flaming roll and spicy tuna rolls were both delicious, showcasing the chef's skills and creativity. The Hamachi belly was notably fresh and added a wonderful dimension to the meal. Normally my go to sushi place for takeout. Order at least a few rolls for the family and we probably order at least once per month. Tonight was not so good. Rice used for sushi was clearly leftover (maybe from lunch or yesterday), tasted like it was from the sushi you buy from the grocery store that's been hanging out in the fridge all day. One of the rolls, chefs special, the eel was sour. Seemed like it went bad. Only giving it 3 stars because normally it's good. Unfortunately it only takes one bad experience. It's close to where we live hence the regular take out orders, but I won't be going back.
Food is consistently good here. Lunch deals are especially great! Service is fantastic. Tony always greets the guests very politely and is always asking about how everything is The ambiance is quiet but family friendly. Considering it's Foster City, the price is like other Japanese restaurants in the area.

The sushi was good. I've been here a couple of times and their service was good. The inside is clean as well. The prices are pretty reasonable. The sushi is good but not super amazing. I'm not the biggest fan of their menu; it's just plain boring. Overall it's okay.
