We have been long term customers of Amarin Thai, possibly over 15 years, and have seen many changes, some good, and most recently......not so good!! We have dined in on many occasions, as a couple, a group of friends, and even an end of year work event, so I have always held this restaurant in high regard. We have also taken advantage of their take away menu, and most recently, tonight in fact, I was appalled and disgusted with what was put in front of us. It's one thing to change management, hike up the prices, which I understand is a necessity over time, but to take advantage of customers by also shrinking portion sizes and servings is an affront to those who have consistently supported yo...
I recently went to this restaurant for lunch after enjoying some great meals there in the past. Unfortunately, it was a hot day and the windows and doors were open, allowing a swarm of flies to bother us while we ate. It would have been more pleasant if they had closed the windows and doors and turned up the air conditioning. The food was just average - the Salt and Pepper crab was too oily, the Sea stars used to be good but are now below par, and the Crab fried rice was mediocre. Overall, I was disappointed with the whole experience. It seems like the restaurant has changed for the worse, whether it's new ownership or a new chef. This will be my last visit to Amarin Thai. Very disappointing...
Am very disappointed and angry about these other reviews. Have been coming here for 24 years and have NEVER ONCE had a bad meal. I travel a lot and have eaten a lot of Thai food and always find this to be one of the best, and with my own food place that employs 14 people, I know good food. The portion sizes are not huge but If you are a lover of good fresh quality food with a great balance of flavours then this is the place. If you are a pig looking for quantity over quality then go somewhere else. I give it a 9/10!
There was a wide selection of dishes on the menu, all of which were of good quality. However, the Choo Chee prawn dish was disappointingly low in prawns for the price. Despite this, all of the dishes had excellent flavor. The service was friendly and efficient. The only downside was that it took a long time for the dessert menu to be presented, and by the time it arrived, we were ready to leave. Overall, the desserts sounded delicious, but it seemed like they were not actively promoted by the restaurant.

We had eaten here a few years ago and it was great. Went back last week and we were very disappointed. Unusually small serves of food were delivered to our table. A tiny amount of steamed rice came out and it was gone before we had all taken some so had to ask for more. Although the food was ok none of our table would bother going back. There are many other Thai restaurants in Adelaide that are better value. It was not good value.
Use to be the Best No longer the case. Sad to say as soon as you walk in you think 'I'll make the most of it'. Don't just don't food was at best just edible only just warm and I really hope we don't get sick. The final straw was watching the cook go out the back to get a slab of cans. I thought Thai food was fresh... More than disappointed.
We have visited Amarin Thai several times over the years, and the food is consistently excellent. The service is usually very good, but the only downside is the noise level, possibly due to the wooden floors and tightly packed tables. However, we continue to return, especially for the delicious crispy barramundi.
It was really good! We ordered chicken satay, tomyum soup and soft shell crab with 2 serves of rice. It came up to $50 including delivery. My partner loved his satay and also the soft shell. I loved my soup and the crab too. Very satisfying. The serves were generous as well.

We visited here several months ago and absolutely loved it. However, our recent visit was a bit disappointing. Whilst there was nothing wrong with the food, it lacked the richness of flavours that we had previously experienced here (despite ordering the same dish).
