The restaurant was exceptionally clean, and the food was delicious. My husband and I stopped in on a Wednesday evening and received excellent service. We were promptly asked about any allergies or dietary preferences. All the dishes arrived quickly and fresh. We tried two appetizers and two main courses, all at very reasonable prices. Our favorites were the Palata with chicken and potato, the Burmese tea leaf salad, the coconut chicken noodle soup, and the Sanjeet noodles topped with shredded duck and garlic noodles.
The staff and chef are incredibly accommodating and friendly, creating an atmosphere that feels like you are welcomed into their home. I can't praise the food enough. It's very rare to find Burmese cuisine in North Jersey, or anywhere for that matter, and if it's your first time trying this would be the place. The neck bone special is where it's at, it reminds me of a dish my mom makes.
Amayar Kitchen in Maywood, NJ, is a gem if you're looking to explore Burmese cuisine! Have you ever experienced Burmese food? It’s one of the few restaurants of its kind in New Jersey. Delightful and made from the heart. Felt like home. The owner is a wonderful person, warm and welcoming and that shows in his food.Also he offered halal meat and confirmed he keeps it separate from all other non halal items.

Wow, I can't believe there's finally a Burmese restaurant, and it's truly authentic! This place is absolutely delicious.
