Silver Strings has all of the essential elements that I believe a neighborhood bar/restaurant/music venue should have. A very professional staff, friendly, efficient and fun to chat with OR they will leave you alone if you need some space. The menu includes familiar favorites and some unusual offerings. Im giving it 3 stars because of ambiance and the bartenders doing a good job, but the food was not good at all. We had an order of the chicken wings and an order of their New York Strip (both of which have a slightly different name on the menu, but you get the point. We thought we lucked out when we needed a backup restaurant for our friends birthday dinner and found this place empty and waiting for us around the corner, boy were we wrong. He got incredibly defensive threatened to call the police on us if we didn't pay. We were astounded. I was excited because of the halal Thai. But not so very happy about the foods. The soup was good. Also liked the curry with mango (forgot the name) and didn?t like the pineapple curry. Not as good as we expected. Fried banana was good. Also, I think the hot tea is better then ice tea since they just put ice on the tea. It looks delicious but doesn?t taste great. The ambiance of this spot is all that it?s cracked up to be relaxed sophisticated and inclusive. Options for bar, table or stuffed arm chair seating. Live music. Hard wood and stained glass Tiffany esque lighting. But the cocktails and food are lacking?.got the bees knees cocktail and the New York ensemble. Cocktail tasted like unsweetened lemon water. Steak was both under and over cooked somehow and definitely under seasoned. Mac was under seasoned and over cooked.
The first impressions were mixed. Although the appearance was quaint, there was a bit of a fishtank smell. Appetizers were fresh and tasty. The spring rolls were piping hot, and the satay chicken was juicy. The Pad Thai was solid, and the other dish (I forgot the name) was very flavorful. The service was at times attentive, other times slow despite not being busy when we were there. Overall, a solid place.
The bartender was very friendly. The cook did a spectacular job. I loved the homemade aioli that went great with the burger and fries. The chocolate mousse cake was rich and yummy. I came on July 31st. I?m definitely coming here very soon. My favorite burger so far btw?.that?s coming from a former Five Guys employee. I had an amazing night! Thank you so much Silver Strings!

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Their “Nashville wings” had no flavor…just really salty. The sazerac was carbonated and filled to the brim with ice. It was made with brandy but somehow nearly clear. The place smells of old oil and was poorly ventilated. We left smelling like fried food despite the cavernous space.
Bar Tender had no idea how to make drinks. Served a Pilsner when we asked for an IPA. Charged us for 8 drinks, when we only got 6. Then charged us 151 dollars? What a rip off…
