Been wanting to try Amy’s for years and finally did! All in all it was pretty good but not the best Chinese I’ve ever had. Serving sizes were generous though and they seemed friendly. Mixed entree was good value but a bit too oily for...me (fried everything! Satay chicken was nice with fresh vegetables however needed double the amount of sauce and more peanut flavour. Sweet and sour pork; I expected it to be a stir fry rather than a bag of bartered pork and a container of sauce. I didn’t think this was good value for money as there were no vegetables and the pork was a bit chewy. Special fried rice was ok but a bit lacking in flavour and on the dry side. I love Amy's. The food is always delicious and fresh and the service is awesome. We had a group of 7 for dinner at our place last minute and decided Chinese was in order. A couple were Gluten Free and Amy's has a separate menu...for all of the GF options and there's plenty to choose from. All meals were so good and although the meals weren't ready when we arrived at the time given to us, we found little bags of dim sims, spring rolls and a chicken and corn soup as an apology. So unexpected. Also with larger orders, you receive a free big bottle of fizzy. The prices are great too. Buck Bow Farn, which is a meal in itself, is just $17 and it's a big meal. Highly recommend this take away.
Amy's Cookin would have to be one of, if not THE BEST Chinese Takeaway in Hobart. You can tell that they only use fresh ingredients and the service is also exceptional too. Singapore Noodles $14 WOW, so tasty and leaves your taste buds...wanting more and more and more. Sometimes there is a little bit of a wait for your meals but believe me it's worth the wait. Their menu has a great range of Chinese food to meet all tastes and the price is absolutely amazing.
We needed a variety of dishes including gluten-free options for a family party and we were so impressed by the service. They arranged us to offer a new year special and also to check we were happy with options. On arrival, our takeaways were on time, hot, carefully packed with great attention to avoid chaos. A jewel of a place. All food allergies, styles of food, EVERYTHING takes care and NOTHING is always a problem. If you wait for more than half an hour, go home with an LOT more than you have ordered! This is... we're going to take with you on Friday night when money is allowed. Never had a well maintained meal and so many options to choose from. I loved the GF chicken and almonds and the garlic shrimps are a solid favorite!
Fantastic take away Chinese. All dishes have been good. Great satay, curry, sweet sour and my daughter loves the Chicken Pineapple. Homemade dim sims are yummy. Always friendly and prompt service and well priced.
It is one of the best Chinese restaurants on the eastern shore I had no bad meal from there yet they were very friendly and polite so try and see for your self
