In Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen, I was faced with the usual fast food mediocre breakfast options when I found Angelina's Bakery. It is wasn’t until I had started eating that I realized this was one of those places that seems to effortlessly straddle two worlds – where the time honored tradition of Italian baking meets a splash of Asian inspiration.With seating the lower level was occupied I found there was more upstairs in an elevated nook, and it was not crowded when I arrived, so I was able to take a few to enjoy my breakfast croissant over a cup of coffee and also indulge in relishing a couple of bakery donut treats. During our brief stay, we visited this café multiple times. The coffee is outstanding, and the pastries are absolutely delightful. We indulged in several bomboloni and croissants, and each one was incredible. The pastries strike a perfect balance—just sweet enough without being overly sugary, unlike what you might find at a fast-food donut shop. The breakfast croissant was also a treat. If I had more time, I would have loved to try more savory options. I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a quick snack and a great cup of coffee. It is on the pricier side, with the breakfast croissant priced at $11, but honestly, the quality of the food makes it worth trying at least once.
Let me begin by mentioning that I’m from southern Italy, specifically Calabria. The pastries here are absolutely incredible. I tried the pistachio croissant, and it completely amazed me: it was flaky without being overly buttery, soft, and fluffy. It wasn’t too sweet, and the filling was fantastic. Eating it made me feel like I was back home. Having grown up enjoying Sicilian pastries, this place really took me back to those wonderful times. If you want to experience authentic Sicilian cuisine, I highly recommend stopping by.
I’ve been fortunate enough to learn about this bakery ever since they first opened, and their donuts taste just as amazing as they did the first time I had a bite! The Monte Blanc Bombolone is easily my new favorite that I’ll be returning for. The flavor combination is absolutely perfect, Chef Tony has outdid himself once again with that amazing creation. This bakery stole my heart. No frills, delicious and affordable. Absolutely delicious pastries. Not too sweet, perfect amount of crisp on the croissants and the most delightful soft and light cream in the pistachio croissant. I had the cream cheese croissant, cheesecake, pistachio croissant, and tiramisu. Their croissants were the highlight. Tiramisu mousse was on the firmer side but still delicious.
I stopped by for some ice cream, and it was incredibly creamy and flavorful. The staff were friendly and attentive. Although the other bakery items looked delicious, I didn't get a chance to try any. I would definitely return specifically for the ice cream. The next morning, I had some breakfast pastries, and they were excellent as well.
Delicious coffee and pastries! I made a quick stop here, and it was definitely worth it. The service is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. Their pistachio croissant is heavenly, and the chocolate cream-filled donut (not sure of the exact name) is fantastic too. I highly recommend this place!
This is a very small bakery with seating available on the second level. Despite the efforts of the three staff members, they unfortunately forgot our coffee order. Pistachio croissant : More of a soft croissant than a flaky croissant but it fits the pistachio cream pastry well. Soft and cream filled with a hint of pistachio. Not too sweet for those without a huge sweet tooth. Would come again!
