We had a large party to celebrate a birthday and the staff kindly put tables together so we could all sit together. Our waitress was fantastic, ensuring our drinks were always filled and our food was hot and tasty. Even the kids had a great time! My children especially enjoy Applebee's because they can choose mozzarella sticks as a side from the kids menu. Personally, I love Applebee's for their delicious blackened salmon. I highly recommend this restaurant!
It?s always a hit n miss with this place. Each time I have ate here, I have gotten sick. I have always tried something different and still ended up sick. Doesn?t seem to do any good when wanting it taken off ticket. Waitresses or waiters are some what positive. Bathrooms are clean, inside atmosphere is clean. Seated fairly quick. Order was taken a little longer then expected and wasn?t to busy on each days.
I come here often with my mother who has dementia and honestly it's her favorite place. I have no complaints as the food is always consistently very good and I have had numerous things off the menu at this point. With the Staffing shortage going on I have never had an issue in this restaurant. These workers have stepped up and present a great picture for their company!
Loud, I don't know my guess is there is not the best layout given their acoustics. Conversations travel far, loud and clearly... I don't know why some packed restaurants it hits more than others...(other than the big open spaced ones i.e. BWW's type) Always awesome service and quick food readiness though, long time consistently positive experiences
Our waitress Elizabeth was amazing. She was absolutely so friendly and attentive and went out of her way to make our visit enjoyable. My husband and I are traveling from Colorado and she has made this trip one of the most enjoyable experiences we have had here in Des Moines. She is definitely a genuinely sweet person. Applebee's is a typical chain restaurant. I had a beer at the bar and ordered my meal to go. I ordered a steak dinner cooked medium rare, but when I got home, it was well done. However, I always enjoy their chicken wonton taco appetizer, which I highly recommend as it is delicious.
Shawn Carroll was the best bartender I have ever had. He was incredibly quick, attentive, polite, and never made a single mistake during my visit. Even though the restaurant was busy, he was always ready to assist.
This is my French onion soup I got tonight. Been very disappointed lately and a loyal customer. Cold, half filled and expensive. Wouldn't complain but far too often recently.
