A little disappointment about the kitchen. There's just a little something missing that the frame/service/kitchen trio is perfect and consistent. For example, in our Pleasure menu, Saint Jacques's walnuts were clearly a wan underneath and without great flavor while the risotto was perfect. Meat-vin agreements are at very reasonable prices but are composed only from wines of 'Alsace (this may be interesting but it should be specified). Finally, it may be difficult to park.
We spontaneously visited the restaurant for lunch and each ordered a starter and a main course. We followed the waiter's recommendations for the right wine accompaniment. The welcome was very friendly. The service is excellent and the food including the wine pairing is a dream. We happily left the restaurant after a long lunch break. We can fully recommend the restaurant. Thank you for the experience.
I think the review corps from the Michelin Guide had a really bad day the night they passed by Eguisheim. Have visited and had 1 star experiences elsewhere in the world that are on the same level as at Au Vieux Porsche. The restaurant and staff are not just close to the first star, they are already there.
