Auberge Au Vieux Pressoir

Desiring a nice lunch while sight seeing in the area of Rouffach, Alsace not far from Colmar, we consulted the Michelin Green Guide and our cell phone mapping service. We found the Vieux Pressoir Restaurant above the village in the middle of the vineyards of...Domaine du Bollenburg. The Old Wine Press was displayed outside. The tasteful luxury we encountered within surprised and pleased us. We were made welcome even though our French was quite rudimentary. The dining room is well appointed with white linens, hanging copper cookware and a lovely ceramic heater at the wall of the room. This restaurant is located in a family-owned large estate in the middle of the vineyards. For more detailed info please see my comments on Hotel du Bollenberg (Rouffach). The scheme we recommend is : taste the estate wines at their winery (free tasting for individuals...or families), then have dinner at the Auberge and finally spend the night at the Hotel sitting in the same estate (just across the street). Twice in a year, we have had dinner at this place and were always happy. Their Choucroute Royale is a must. This dish is so generous in quantity that you hardly have room for a appetiser and/or a desert. To accompany the choucroute, my advice is to drink their Riesling Clos Sainte Apollin...

This restaurant is situated in a beatiful area on La Route des Vins in the Domaine du Bollenberg. The building itself is very interesting with many old artifacts on show. The restaurant has an extensive menu (only fresh produce) and of course an excellent wine...list. The staff are very welcoming and highly professional. I could fault nothing and have to say that this restaurant deserves a Michelin rating. The restaurant also caters for gourmet children and if you are vegetarian, I'm sure that you can find something delicious from the menu or request one of the excellent chefs to prepare something special for you. I highly recommend this restaurant and hope to return soon

This lovely family run restaurant, Auberge Au Vieux Pressoir, is above the village in the middle of the vineyards of Domaine du Bollenburg. We were warmly welcomed and promptly shown to the dining room with nice crisp white linen. Tables are also well spaced leaving...plenty of room for comfort and privacy. Every dish that came out of the kitchen from our chosen set menu, was delicious and was accompanied by great local wine parings. Service was particularly attentive and friendly. Afterwards we popped in to their very old and interesting cellar. We are really pleased to have visited this top notch establishment and would certainly recommend it to our friends. The Auberge du Vieux Pressoir has got to be the best wedding venue in the Alsacian wine-producing area. You dine and dance on a wooden floor under a huge marquee in the middle of the vineyard with an amazing view over the Rhine valley (guess...what? I saw the snow-covered Alps in the far distance on my way down. That's how clear the weather was). The cook is peerless, the produce is local, fresh and imaginatively treated, and the service is efficient and truly friendly. Mr Meyer orchestrates it all with maestria. I had a totally carefree bridal experience, which is good because the Bollenberg Muscat and organic Riesling are irresistible.

Beautifully located in the heart of the vineyards, this restaurants boasts amazing starters and deserts. Also the best Cremant d'Alsace Rose, which is locally produced from their vineyards. A family restaurant with that touch of care, love and friendliness. The playground was a great addition...for the kids, which kept them busy. And, on top, the little ones (up to years) can eat for free. We had a discount (booking through Tripadvisor) and this has made the experience even better.

We had our wedding in a tent up the restaurant. The food was terrific (even if we were and the service perfect. All the preparation was mastered by the tenant Meyer Family (special thanks to Adélaïde). So on the special day, we only...had to enjoy the beautiful view, tasty food, great vines (and our friends families ; ). For a wedding or a romantic diner, it is worth the nice trip up the vineyard.

Great lunch with my family in this Maitre Restaurateur establishment. Tasty food, good wine selection, spacious dining room with an outdoor option. Lovely setting.
