We cycled past this restaurant during the day and liked the look of it. We booked the table and it was a right thing to do, as the restaurant is popular with the locals. I liked the old fashion decor of the place, it is...not trying to be fancy or something it isn't. People running the place and the staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food is delicious! I vividly remember the morel mushroom sauce my husband ordered with his meat. The vine was very nice too! I was soo excited about the food and wanted to take more photos, but did not want to look silly in front of the local people enjoying their meal. Lovely cozy place. I will be definitely back!
Really nice French food! I was travelling for work and it was quite close to the hotel: nice surprise! A salad and a main dish that were both based on cheese (of course, in this area ) and delicious! A little expensive, but quite...deserved, as the waiter was really nice, even though he was not perfectly prepared in explaining the dishes. We asked for wine and he brought to us a nice wine, but without giving us the opportunity to choose. The location was typical and familiar and quite far from Geneve: you wouldn't get there on purpose. But this is not the point. Suggested to everyone!
This place specializes in the Roblechon, a type of cheese that you typically find in the tartiflette. But the entire menu is so good! Their sauce aux morilles (mushroom)is incredible. And personally, I don't normally like Roblechon!!! The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is friendly and clean. The people are adorable. My Mom lost her pearls in the parking lot, we noticed after we left, and they quickly went out and found them, called us back.. So wonderful to find honest AND delicious all in 1 place.

I travel a lot around the World, I visit fine restaurants, hotels but there is nowhere I would rather go for dinner than the Auberge d'Ayze. I feel at home there (and thats maybe the best compliment anyone can give) whilst being treated to...their local cuisine. And all this for a very reasonable price. Book in advance, its not a big restaurant and its a well kept secret locally so you might have trouble getting a table.
Specialising in traditional cheese based local dishes, the Auberge d'Ayze gives you the feeling that a couple years back it was probably better and over time is living more and more on past past glory. The service is good and food not bad but for...the price you'd except more and better.
Situated in the Haute Savoie Mountains, in the Town of Ayze, this is a nice little restaurant with a typical setting. The staff is very friendly, We had a Cheese Fondue Savoyarde style, it is a little different then the way Swiss do the Cheese...Fondue, but also very good.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening there.Friendly and warm, even had an English menu for those of us not lucky enough to speak French.The cheese dishes are amazing, as was the lamb.Adrian was charming and friendly.A real treat and special night with friends.
