I visited Auberge de Bionnassay with my family in June 2013. The owner (Walter) is happens to also be our family ski instructor in Saint Gervais Mont Blanc ski resort. The restaurant (and B&B) has been in Walter's family for many generations and his passion and love of the place shows through the quality of service and excellent standard of food. Located perfectly for walkers in the area, with both indoor and outdoor seating, the restaurant serves a variety of local dishes as well as some old favourites (such as Tartiflette and Coq Au Vin). I've stayed in Auberge de Bionnassay for one night with my family whilst on TMB tour.The place has lovely quiet location in the mountains.We've found the great place - very pleasant and not expensive.The service was excellent, the food was tasty.We've slept in dormitory and we were surprised by pleasant atmosphere : there were rather few people (even though we've travelled on high season) , clean and nice.Very high ceiling add to the good feelings.The food was tasty and service was pleasant .Window in the dining room provided us view to the stable with a donkey and lama, additional attraction for the kids. I would definitely recommend staying in Auberge de Bionnassay.
This is a charming auberge with lots of character- complete with a window from the dining room through to the stable where a donkey and lama were settling down for the night.The food was good, and service swift and pleasant, they had all the local specialities and were happy to explain these to us. However, the flies that we noticed as we arrived became a real distraction by the end of the meal. There were a lot. Could they invest in one of those blue zapper lights??
We were very surprised by the super low price for a half board in this place (with additional discount for children) and didn't expect for too much. But we found this place excellent. The food and the service were the best in our TMB. The dormitory looks very interesting and pleasant. It has a very a very high ceiling that gives a good feeling and a lot of air during the night. the toilets and the showers are fine.

We had a pit stop here for lunch bfr heading back home after our walkies. It's a lovely quiet setting in the mountains. I had the salade savoyarde and my husband had the tartiflette accompanied by a pichet de rose. We finished the meal off wt a tarte aux myrtilles and it was all freshly homemade and very tasty! Will definitely go again. Service was great too.
A group of us set out from Gruvaz, destination Bionnassay. Hike was relatively easy except for a few spots. The auberge was great and we took advantage of the gorgeous day to dine on the terrace which we had reserved in advance. Setting was very quaint. Food was good and the service fine. In short, we enjoyed ourselves a lot.
While passing through the region, we stopped at this very pleasant inn with a very friendly welcome. We dined outside, with fondue on the menu of course! Excellent We have good memories of this moment.
Had an excellent lunch here looking over the glacier and enjoying the sunshine. Waitress was very friendly and food was good.
