This is a typical tourist trap. We were told we would have to wait, but because we had our little boy with us, we were advised to buy a crepe accross the street and have some drinks here. At that point we felt understood - waiting is hard for a one year old. As time passed, we felt we did not want to wait longer and wanted to pay by card, but we were told there was a minimum spend of 15 euros. At that point we decided that we could maybe stretch it out some more. After another 25 minutes we were shown to our table, and an hour later we finally got our food, after someone noticed no plates and thought we might like to pay... The food we had was not tasteful. The beer was very welcome when we arrived after a tough day walking and we had an excellent meal outside in the restaurant. The views from the restaurant are outstanding. The scenery on the walk from Il Croce to Bavella is fabulous. We stayed at the gite. This was quite basic but had hot showers and is located below the restaurant. (Note some of the bolts on the doors don't work!) If you can, do visit the "bomb hole" while you are here. It is worth a diversion off the GR20 before you proceed to Conca.
We were welcomed early to lunch and told the Large indoor area was booked, and shown to a nice outdoor table. we had the menu 24e Corsican charcouterie, followed by Sanglier Polenta, I had Steak & Frites, Fritador, the family had run this place for 3 generations since 1936, most enjoyable great staff, good value.
We spent the afternoon at the Col de Bavella looking at wildflowers and birds. We popped into the Auberge for a quick cup of coffee and to use the facilities, sitting on the outside terrace. We could see other groups eating attractively presented food and enjoying the ambience.

We stopped here on our way Solenzara - Col de Bavella - Porto-Vecchio. It was a rainy day and we went for a cup of coffee. Dispute the rain it was a very good atmosphere so we really enjoyed our coffee due to the super location of the restaurant.
We took the dinner package when staying at the Auberge. very nice ambiance at the bar, Very nice restaurant with nice food. Very comforting after a day of hiking or, like us, doing 'le trou de la bombe' trail.
Meal was ok. We had to wait a little for the waiter, but we were on holidays, no hurry. The best thing on the restaurant is the view, the athmosphere
Nice welcome, good service and great simple typical Corsican dishes. The stuffed aubergines are delicious and the cafe gourmand is very generous

Great location, and the only thing around. We got a snack and some drinks here and were happy with the location and service. A nice place!
