Stopped for lunch in the great quayside fish restaurant in Santa Luzia recently. A number of nearby places were already pretty full at 1pm when we arrived so we were glad to get a table outside in the warm winter sun. David our waiter was...excellent friendly and informative. We had warm bread rolls with sardine pate and olives To begin while we waited for our first course of excellent garlic prawns. We chose our main course from the fish cabinet which contained today’s freshly caught fish. Hake first the kids and two different types of whole Bream on bone for us. Lovely food served in a great location. Prices were good too.
Ended up here because other restaurants were packed, and the experience was just horrible! This is a poor quality place that looks old and dirty, with horrible food and reduced number of unprofessional and very unfriendly staff! We’ve ordered squids and octopus and everything was...just hard like rubber! Even the bread, the cheese and the coffees were just bad quality! And to finish they didn’t take cards as the MB terminal wasn’t working, so ended up walking far away looking for an ATM to pay a rip-off for a terrible dinner! Never again! This place is more like a cheap “tasca” than a restaurant! This is a place to avoid!
We had gone especially to Santa Luzia for some octopus .This restaurant is on the seafront, good for people watching The young man welcomed us and was very friendly. We had some couvert then I had the grilled octopus, served with carrots, green beans and...boiled potatoes which I quite enjoyed. OH had the octopus on the spit which was actually 3 pieces of octopus, two big shrimps and half an onion, same veg as me. It was quite enjoyable too. Desserts were large and good at €3 each. The house wine was cheap so the bill was reasonable. I would say this meal was good but not outstanding.
I went to this restaurant twice since I loved it so much the first time. The waiter (David was charming. The were a little stressed the first time but i must say that the clams were just so good. Simple but wonderful as long...as you like garlic an coriander which I do. In fact I found myself gobbling up the garlic even after I had eaten clams and fried prawns. I had 2 starters the second time : . I can recommend this restaurant for a more personal experience of Portuguese food. The view was great too. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
after the walk from tavira to praia do baril and then back to santa luzia I was ready for lunch. very friendly service (no discrimination against solo dinner) and patient with my portugiesen. I had the grilled otopus that was very nice. I'm pretty gloomy, but I was happy. I was not too impressed by the vege (beans, carrots and carrots), but I have eaten some. with a glass weeping and pointed, only €19. I would go back to enjoy their friendly service. I felt welcome.
Very friendly service, swift but not rushed. Good choice of fish dishes and some non fish meals. Excellent grilled salmon and octopus; pleasant tuna with garlic; tender turkey steak. All good and lovely view too. Largely Portuguese clientele, always a good sign.
Fabulous dining experience this evening at this very exquisite restaurant right on the waters edge at Santa Luzia.. brilliant friendly service the fish is the freshest I have had on this trip. Highly recommended!
eating and service were perfectly acceptable without being in any wise better than average. the kartoffels were not very good, but the other sweet was in order. satisfied with our hunger, but nothing more. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
visits here on walk from tavia to barril really nice eating and relaxing atmosphere. none of us was disappointed by our eating and we will return definitiw next year.
