I have been ta two Babes locations but was encouraged to visit this, the original, location. It is nestled in the heart of Roanoke and is surrounded by several other restaurants on the ‘main’ street leading directly to City Hall. It is a quaint yet growing area. The decor is pretty cool and reminiscent of an open country barn with exposed rafters and all. In fact the space above houses quite a bit of history as it is used to commemorate employees with long tenures. At the five year mark, you get a placard with your name and years of service. They are placed on rafters facing the door. The rafter spaces with names facing away from the door are for employees with more than ten years of service...
Been here a few times and this is by far the best fried chicken in DFW. You get three entrees with two endless sides, buttermilk biscuits, salad and can drink it down with delicious homemade sodas and sweet tea. Really can't beat it for the price too. The staff is great and the old style atmosphere of this place really makes the restaurant more enjoyable.
Love how it’s family style. However the chicken this time was lacking in FLAVOR. We’ve visited another location and the chicken had more flavor. Not sure if we got it on a bad day. However the food was good and hot. We would go again, and hope for better flavor. For $19 you get 4 pieces of chicken and bottomless sides.
We have been to several of these. I was sad to learn this was the original. Not as many options as the others on both the protein and vegetables. We will always go to Babes when traveling with the grandchildren but probably not this particular one. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Visited babes for the first time and it was delicious! I love the family style serving. We had chicken tenders, chicken fried steak, and fried chicken and it was all amazing. Sides were A+ and I can’t wait to go back.
I’ve been coming here since I was a teen! By far the best chicken tenders and biscuits ever! I love that they say “y’all have a blessed day” and sweet things when we leave!
Come here a lot for lunch during work, service is always friendly and the tenders and sides are fantastic
