The food quality and service were both quite good. The drinks were well made. So why three stars? Ridiculously small portions. Look, I understand that high quality dining will not have a portion size or price point of a buffet. But this took it to the extreme. We ordered two appetizers $14-16 each): shrimp, and a crab cake. this restaurant is amazing, eating and service is excellent. rachael was exceptional. she could describe any escape, drink and dessert! the ambiente is really good, not like any other place in the city or elsewhere. until the restaurant was full, it was very easy to talk and listen to our great table. for all up, eating is nicely prepared and not cheap! our evening was lovely and we hope to be reappointed for another!

In all my years of eating here, I was always amazed at how delicious every meal was. I never had a meal I wasn't satisfied with. the service was impeccable, very hospitable and informatiw! the filet my mannes with the wine reduction was delicious, so tender and tasteful! I had the garnel emulsion, the sauce was delicious, but the garnel was slightly over boiled as they were slightly tough.
Alexander?s never disappoints, ever! The filet mignon is, in my opinion, easily the best in Roanoke and always comes with in season vegetables. Every entree also comes with a beautiful salad. My favorite place for special dinners out.
We had a wonderful dining experience with our daughter and an out of town guest at Alexander’s. Spectacular food and great service as we have come to value there. Keep up the continued good work!
