EXCLUSIVE!!! Guess who got an exclusive look into new Head Chef Massimo Speroni's menu! Oh yes I did! What an amazing opportunity to see the start of something that is truly amazing!!! Chef Massimo only arrived one week ago to Australia, yes one week. He had to meet new staff, a new setting and new produce to work with. This guy is just so dedicated and talented, of course this is reflected in his previous experience as the Sous Chef at the 2**Michelin San Domenico. Anyway back to the food! Came to Bacchus with really high expectations that unfortunately weren't met...regarding food. Service, on the other hand, was fantastic. It's great seeing restaurants offer amuse bouche's but these weren't good at all. They where all un-amuse-ing. Lacking in flavour. This was a bad start to the evening. We ordered the steak tartare to share. I like how they split the dish for us and gave us our individual eggs but as soon as I took a bite, I had to stop. There was something off in that tartare. My friend ordered the risotto and she didn't enjoy the patchouli flavour emitted by the addition of some sort of dried flower. I had the octopus and this too was such an underwhelming dish. We have been semi regulars at Baccuus for birthday, anniversaries and special occasions since arriving in Brisbane 3 years ago . We have to say that it never fails to impress . Friday just gone we attended a pre Christmas dinner with our father who at 90 years of age flew up from NSW to spend some time with us over Christmas so of course we took him to Baccus . The team did not dissapoint . My father has difficulty cutting his food now days and when staff saw me cutting up his dinner they whisked it off to the kitchen to be cut up and bought back presented again beautifully. I can never fault the service or the food . As always a wonderful experience . Thankyou to Zac our ever attentive wait...

The most beautiful food. The waiting staff are absolutely lovely and accomodating. It is very expensive but so worth it. The overall quality of the restraint makes the price worth it. I had the king fish which was cooked to perfection. We shared a tartare for a starter which was really yummy. After our mains we had a cheese board. The cheeses were bought out for us to choose. I love this restraint and personally think it's the best in Southbank!!!!

The food was nice but the night was spoiled by the restaurant not accepting the best restaurants voucher. Despite the fact every other restaurant does. I'd posted a photo to my colleagues who had given the vouchers for my birthday. Apparently, there's a difference between vouchers and certificate.

Brilliant - Best we've been to so far in Brisbane.  Fantastic food and wine in a relaxing environment.  Wait staff were exceptional; definitely going back! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

You would think that a hotel restaurant in Southbank wouldn't be all that great, but I think Bacchus is likely in the top five restaurants in Brisbane.
