Expecting first-class quality, I entered this restaurant drawn by the good critiques. Also, compared to the other places in the same waterside street of Santa Luzia, the old look and feel of Baixamar usually indicates a restaurant that has survived the test of many hard years. The place is quite nice with its traditional decor and tiled walls, and the waiter, with his tendency for over-the-top conversations, can draw the interest of guests in need of lively discussions. As for me, I like a good decor but I mostly value the quality of food over any other characteristic, including the conversational skills of the innkeeper. Antes da nossa chegada a Santa Luzia tinhamos lido várias críticas aos restaurantes da vila. Na noite em que chegámos, tentámos ir a um dos que tinham 5 estrelas aqui no Tripadvisor mas a enchente era tal que resolvemos experimentar o Baixamar, que apesar de cheio, não tinha filas.Foi o melhor que fizemos, comemos Arroz de Polvo e Polvo à Algarvia, ambos deliciosos... o polvo era macio como nunca tinhamos comido noutro lugar, absolutamente maravilhoso!!!O atendimento é óptimo, simpáticos, engraçados e rápidos.No resto da semana ainda tivemos oportunidade de ir a um dos tais cotados com 5 estrelas mas o polvo era rijo e menos saboroso que no Baixamar.Se querem comer um polvo cozinhado como em...
Entramos en este restaurante por que estaba medio vacío mientras los restaurantes adyacentes estaban saturados, y no es por casualidad.La carta es bastante pobre, poca variedad, básicamente y por insistencia no te queda otra que irte a por el pulpo y eso hicimos, lo pedimos con arroz y en una especie de salpicón, no estaba mal, pero tampoco se puede decir que fuese excelente, ni el género ni la preparación, aunque también es verdad que estamos acostumbrados a comer el pulpo elaborado de otra forma,El trato muy bueno, al igual que el servicio de mesa y los precios no son demasiado altos.Lo mejor de este restaurante es su situación.
I've been here in 2012 and I liked it, although it was a little bit pricey. Great service (e. g. the main waiter/owner Pedro explained us why they don't have Coca-Cola, for social & environmental reasons, which turned out to be great because we chose one of the best orange juices I have ever had). Starters were ok, the vegetable soup was good, the octopus rice was ok (I have to admit I had high expectations, so I was expecting more), the dessert was great (pineapple/lemon mousse). Wir hatten verschiedene Polvo Gerichte - Polvo-Reis und gegrillter Polvo-Garnelen-Spieß. Auf den Punkt zubereitet. Und Mega-lecker. Wir waren zum Glück gerade noch rechtzeitig. Nach uns gab es längere Wartezeiten, um überhaupt einen Tisch zu bekommen. Ist aber typisch für die Hauptsaison. Die Vorspeisen u. A. Muscheln waren auch grandios. Die Weine sind passend. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Der Preis passt vollkommen.
Restaurant à faire, ne vous arrêtez pas à la décoration ce n'est pas le fort de ce restaurant mais la qualité est là. En entrée un poêlée de coques et ensuite du poulpe grillé pour continuer.Au final très bon repas manque juste un peu de sourire et de sens du commerce pour le service mais nous y avons mangé un 15 Août et il y avait beaucoup de clients et pas beaucoup de personnes pour servir.

Best places to eat in Santa Luzia, friendly service by the owner and team. You should start with the "Petisco" and for main meal "Polvo à Algarvia". El pulpo es esquisto pero ponen poca cantidad. El atún muy bueno. Son muy lentos.... Tarta de algarroba espectáculo de sabores. Yo iría a este sitio sin prisa y sigo diciendo q he venido a comer pulpo y ..... Riquísimo pero escaso....aún así repetiría si viviera aquí
