Bandana’s B-B-Q consistently delivers delicious BBQ! My personal favorites include the coleslaw, the budget-friendly smoked pulled pork, and the potato salad. The combination of Chicago Sweet BBQ sauce and KC style BBQ sauce is absolutely amazing! Our waitress was incredibly attentive, and the service was excellent. However, the atmosphere could use some improvement; the place definitely needs a bit of updating. But honestly, my family and I visit for the food, not to admire the decor. I highly recommend this spot to anyone in search of fantastic smoked meats and an array of great BBQ sauces (yes, that’s right—sauces! plural!). We also love their fried green beans as an appetizer!
We waited for a couple of people to join us that was about 20 minutes to wait so we ordered sodas and decided on our orders. Next thing we know this waitress comes out and says the smoker has been down since yesterday and we hv no brisquet, burnt ends, or ribs. I almost walked out! That should have been posted on the front of the door. But getem in makem wait a while then tell them the bad news so they figure we have been here so long let's just order something. I was very disappointed with the treatment. And I may not even go back there. My turkey platter wasn't anything fantastic probably because the smoker is broke.
The brisket plate was excellent and very tender! They were accommodating with gluten-free options and provided an extra side instead of bread. The coleslaw was fantastic! However, the green beans and corn were somewhat bland. It was a nice touch that they had various sauces on the table to sample. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Although the restaurant had a bit of a dated decor, it was clean and well-kept. Overall, it was a delightful surprise during our day of travel! Thank you, Bandana’s!
I usually order BBQ it has always been scrumptious. This time I ordered the Catfish Dinner. It comes with 2 catfish fillets, 2 sides, garlic bread. My catfish was mouth watering, cooked to perfection. Very skimpy on the fried okra, fries (my 2 sides). Quality was good but quantity was not. Very happy, came down to Missouri on a lark for lunch. I was a bit apprehensive as last time I went to a place known for burnt ends... I think it was Jack Stack it was overpriced and not true burnt ends. Bandanas though delivered. Burnt ends were legit. Mac and Cheese was very tasty. My favorite offering though was the smoked sausage.
Kelsey was fantastic, and the food was nearly as impressive as her service. I dined in for dinner, and the cost per person was around $10–20. I would rate the food a 5, the service also a 5, and the atmosphere a 4. I highly recommend trying the BBQ sauce, garlic bread, and smoked chicken!
The gluten-free options here are excellent. Our waitress was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu. There were plenty of sauces to choose from, and the food was delicious. However, they should consider updating their sign out front to give the place a more polished appearance.
