Saw the lobster sign today and gave it a try. It was awesome. A lovely table at the window and very friendly service indeed. The lobster was presented to me at the table homard rôti and was cooked to perfection. It came with a creamy sauce and oven vegetables which were tasty. Also some mashed potatos. Which I didn't need. Washed it down with a nice Rosé de Provence. Initually I then was in a hurry to get the little train for a ride through Etel. But was told that it was not available. So i had time for dessert. This place was taken over by new owners early 2015 and completely re-styled into a very smart interior with imaginative décor, marine style. The charming new owners call it cuisine creative and it certainly is. Starters of Moules Farcies were delicious with a subtle taste of spicyness. Main course of Gratin de St Jacques was delicious. Good wine list, most of it available in pichet 50cl. although we were eating a la carte, there was a set menu around 13 Euros which looked quite appetising. In short a very pleasant experience and a place to be highly recommended.
I really was not impressed and the worst was the brown lettuce on the plates! When we asked if this was a special salad (we didnt want to make it sound like we were complaining) the waiter/owner said it was hot in the kitchen. We had an appetizer and two burgers. Both were okay but really nothing to rave about. The appetizer was small not really value for money. I am mainly writing this review to warn other people that the high marks are not always correct.
The staff worked so hard, and many times they had to turn people away. We were glad we arrived just after 12 noon on the Sunday. The menu was varied, and we ended up being very happy with the 'menu' - it was delicious and despite the busy restaurant, there was no delay in getting the food out.
