My favourite kind of place to go is one that does food really well, but is chill about it. This is one of those places warm welcome on arrival, friendly chat from the staff, the menu is exactly the length it needs to be with enough variety to make it interesting without causing you to spend hours deciding. Every single thing we ordered was great, we ordered extras of a couple of things because we liked them so much. Drinks could be a little slow arriving, they were worth the wait. I have been lucky enough to visit Bar Lourinha a few times, however, my most recent experience was by far my favourite! <br/ <br/ From the minute we walked in, we were welcomed by the beautiful staff, who very promptly attended us to the table.<br/ <br/ The Food We opted for the $65pp feed me menu, and this is by far one of the most generous banquets I have experienced. Went to Bar Lourinha for the Melbourne Food and Wine festival express lunch. $40 for a meal plus wine which is normally two courses, but Bar Lounhina did one for four courses.<br/ <br/ We started off with some peppers, apparently one in five of them are spicy. We ate most of them which weren’t that spicy, then the last one was super spicy!<br/ <br/ Next we got to choose our entrees. We both chose the lightly cured kingfish. Loved the jamon croquettes, potato cigars and the mushroom empanadilla. We could have stopped there, but we were tempted by the roast cauliflower, as well as the organic beetroot with green wheat. The beetroot dish was very moreish, and completely not what I was expecting. The accompanying bread was the perfect touch. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and our waitresses were super friendly. The only suggestion is perhaps leave a bit more room between the tables we had to move our dishes as our neighbours kept getting up, to avoid them getting some of our dinner on their backsides!!!!!!!

Excellent bar for a meal and drinks. The food, service and everything in between is what makes Melbourne's food scene great. We've been coming on and off over the years, and it has never let us down. It is also a great place to bring visitors as you know you'll get a good experience. In terms of food, just try a bit of everything because it does change.
Booked dinner after attending Australian Open. We were seated upstairs a little more spacious and not as noisy.Fantastic tapas from Morton Baybugs croquettes to Cantabrico Anchovies to Padron peppers to stracciatella with tomatoes, chickpeas with spinachEvery plate of food was flavoursome. Pretty good cozy spot for a nice catch up with friends. We ordered a few good dishes. My only dislike was the chicken, it was a bit too bland. But overall fantastic food and cocktails!
What a great reminder, of how good this establishment is. Threw the bags into the hotel room went straight to our 13:00 lunch booking. Great service food surprisingly quiet

Great bites, and larger plates. Lighting not conducive to photography, the lamb heart skewer was flavoursome, the chickpeas a study in simplicity, the flavours robust.
