We visited this place at Christmas time and had the most amazing time. We have come back for Easter and it does not disappoint. Everything on the Menu is Fantastic, all home made food and locally sourced meat, vegetables, cheese and honey- you couldn’t ask for anything more. Best flavoursome steak I’ve ever tasted,Mountain Paella, Blackpudding, section of desserts all made fresh- And the infamous Catalan Cream pudding all topped off with great beer/Wine and coffee. My partner and I decided to go on a trip to the Catalan Pyrenees this January. We knew that once we where there we would find beautiful views,friendly people and good food. But we never thought on finding such a gem, lost in the middle of the mountains “Bar Restaurant Casa Xoquin” And Durro the village where it’s located are a must go! The quality of their food it’s unreal all produced in L’alta Ribagorça and 100% organic the chief “Pili” knows how to bled all together to make unforgettable dishes! Nos encanta subir en familia desde Barruera a Durro por el bosque,y luego poder comer en este restaurante,donde una familia afable nos atiende a las mil maravillas. Hay un menu de dos platos,postre,(vino agua y pan incluidos como debe ser) a un precio mas que razonable,con sorpresas entre los platos como un carpaccio de pies de cerdo riquisimo.De segundos hay opciones variadas,recomiendo el pollo,botifarra o longaniza a la brasa.Esta vez nos deleitaron ademas con una tarta de queso extraordinaria. No sabria escoger entre su interior con mobiliario de madera muy acogedor,o la terraza que da a una placita de piedra muy intima.
We had never visited the valley and decided to go home to xoquin for the good opinions he had. And it was a good one. the canelon of ceps, the trinxat of the cerdanya and the homemade ham croquettes, pork blankets and cooked was our dinner. pa amb tomaca, superior. all exquisite, without artifices. Fine cheese dessert flan, very good. the deal, excellent. family atmosphere and authentic. Congratulations!

Lugar auténtico. Comida riquísima. Pedimos croquetas de cada clase y hamburguesa de ternera, buenísimo producto. Servicio excepcional y gran amabilidad. Llegamos tarde de hora para cocina y aún así nos sirvieron y dieron de comer, muy probablemente si nos hubiese ocurrido en Barcelona se habrían negado, por tanto, es de agradecer. Esperamos volver pronto!
Gran experiencia, Excelente!! La atención y amabilidad del personal siempre bien dispuesto, los platos de excelente calidad, los postres buenísimos, en especial la tarta de pistachos. Tambien se puede tomar un aperitivo, o disfrutar un postre y un café al regreso de una caminata por los alrededores de tan lindo lugar. Imperdible!!!
Came across this little gem by mistake, and WOW!! The food was amazing big thanks to chief Pili , totally unexpected to be blown away with such good service, this is real Catalonian food at its best. We will be coming again before we head back to England. I couldn’t highly recommend this place enough, thanks Pilli and Julian
Después de ir andando hasta la ermita de Sant Quirc hemos parado a comer en este restaurante y !menuda sorpresa! La comida casera de la zona estaba deliciosa y el trato del personal muy agradable. Hemos pedido el menú con varios platos para elegir. Sin dudarlo volveremos en otra ocasión.
