I was craving some Italian today and I’ve heard good things about Baris. We’re told Baris is a Waco staple and one of the better Italian food places in Waco. We walked in on a Saturday night at 7:30 pm with no wait. It was busy but there were a few empty tables. There was a smoke in the whole dining area which was unpleasant and it was pretty hot in there but I wondered if this was because of the pizza ovens. Our service wasn’t bad but it wasn’t really great either. Our server was, what I noticed to be inefficient. We knew what we wanted to drink and what appetizer we wanted but she would come to our table, drop off the menus then leave away quick. Then come back with silverware and then sai...
On the rim! Italian food is always so good and it is hard to stop eating when you feel you have enough. The rolls with butter in Bari alone make you want to be filled. My son said the Special Calzone wasn't as good as the ones we had at Simple Simon. The baked Tortellini I was super delicious. Next time I will order it without the chicken; Chicken wasn't so delicious. We have already eaten here and I enjoyed the regular Calzone and Fried Mushrooms. If she had only sweet tea to go, The service was on the spot!
The service is GREAT! The server we had was super helpful and an awesome dude over all. It’s really clean in there as well and they have a large menu of items to choose from. The downfall is that the food isn’t to great compared to other Italian spots I’ve been to. This isn’t one of the restaurants I’d recommend to be honest.
No nonsense delicious, generously cut Italian American classics at a ridiculous price. Expect to leave with to-go containers. The front of the staff is wonderful, the kitchen is a machine. Awesomeness great place to stop on the way to Austin or even back from Austin to dallas. Usually there is only bbq in Waco but this places is great for Italian from the free diner rolls to the cheese pizza. I had baked zitti it was amazing.
Who doesn’t love Baris? The BEST house salad dressing and rolls which we order with every entree, and you can’t beat their prices. Love their curbside service for easy after-work pickup. Friendly and fast.
I could see that my waitress was very overwhelmed. It was busy and environment was family friendly. Food was great, just needed a touch of salt but that was provided at the table. Hawaiian pizza was good.

Baris is our Italian food. The place is secret, the ambience is great. The food has always been great. I had the spicy pasta, roasted mushrooms and calzone all strongly recommended!!
