My family and I went here for late lunch. The beer was amazing, and the food was good. We also loved the atmosphere; it was cozy and welcoming. My husband and I ordered two tasting flights, one with their traditional/base brews (i.e. Iowa Gold) and one with more interesting flavors. While all beers were good, I was particularly impressed by the peanut butter and jelly beer... it actually tasted like a PB J sandwich! I really liked the sour we tried. We were also impressed by the menu. It contained many more food options than other breweries in the region. Our children disappeared the Mac cheese, and my husband and I enjoyed the cheese-shorted appetizer! I definitely recommend this brewery if...

Great place to have beer. Many choices of beer available. You can literally see the brewing equipment from the bar. We went on Wednesday night and the service was great. No waiting time for sitting and short waiting time for food/drinks. Each server/bartender was really attentive and could give recommendations. We'll go back there.
We went to Barn Town Brewing on 5th. Anniversary and it was PACKED. Her new beers were phenomenal and her food was as good as it looks in all pictures. I highly recommend this place as they have good price Burger/Sandwiches and their beer is top notch!
If I could go back to one brewery in Des Moines I think I'd pick Barn Town. I enjoyed their golden ale. And if they can make that well I'm sure they can master anything. Love the vibe. And the Ford F100 was a hit with my son the Ford mechanic.
Fun atmosphere, huge selection of beer quite a few sour options. The ecto coolest was amazing and they had it available in slush form, which would be wonderful on a hot summer day. Friendly staff and fun decor. We’ll definitely be back!
The beer was good and service was good. The food was fair at best. We had brussels sprouts and the Cubano flat bread. Sprouts were not fully done and greasey. The Cubano was just warm when it got the table so it cold when eaten.
Incredible selection from a variety of beers and foods that will thank your taste buds for later. If you haven't tried Barn Town Brewing, you're missing a piece of heaven in Iowa.
