Like not enough hummus to eat the flatbread, etc. However we just got takeout during the coronavirus lockdown and the portions were gigantic! We had more hummus and flatbread than we knew what to do with There are not a lot of vegan options. Even the falafel has egg in it. But, this is Iowa so obviously we aren’t expecting Cafe Gratitude. The vegan options at this restaurant are delicious. The falafel is now vegan, and there is a vegan cheese option for pizzas. Many of the sides are also vegan. Some of the vegan or customizable vegan sides include warm olives, mushrooms, papas bravas (without aioli), Brussels sprouts, hummus (available during brunch or dinner), mushrooms, and shishito peppers. The salads are also fantastic. My favorite items on the brunch menu are the smashed avocado toast and the avocado bowl, but the shakshuka (Mediterranean tomato stew served with flatbread) and chilaquiles are also excellent. I tried the cauliflower falafel plate and found it to be delicious. The addition of pickled vegetables enhanced the dish, and the hummus was tasty. However, the jalapenos were a bit overpowering for my taste. The restaurant offers various vegan options, including their pizza which can also be made vegan. A fellow diner ordered the pizza and enjoyed it. Overall, the service was good.
he had dinner here for the first time with a friend to celebrate galentines day evening. we would definitely go back and next time we would probably just share some appetizers. great food and great atmosphere.
we sat 30 minutes after our opentable reservation. it was very busy, but we felt that the opentable reservation did nothing for us. Food/drinks/table service are all great.
