This will be the last time I recommend this place to ANYONE. Last year, this restaurant was top notch! No wait time and fast service. Today, total opposite. We had reservations at 6:45pm. We got there at 6:37 and waited. While we were waiting we noticed a couple standing there before us. Time goes by and everyone who comes AFTER us is quickly being seated. So I turn to ask the couple who has been standing there how long were they standing there and they proceed to say almost TWO HOURS!!!! So I obviously asked if they had a reservation and they said no. I am so impressed with Barrio. The service was hands down the best service I have experienced. The restaurant was out of 2 drink requests for my husband. Management went out of their way to ensure everything else was perfect to make up for it. I wish I knew the two ladies names, but they were AMAZING. Our server Dwight was also really great! Together they made it a great date night experience for my husband and I. The food was also really good. I would give the food 4 stars. The service and ambiance together knocks 5 stars out the park. I must say I am a huge Mexican foodie and it takes a lot to impress me, so one may even say the food is also 5 stars. Either way I would hands down recommend...
I just had my birthday here and the food, drinks, service and atmosphere was amazing! My server Payton was super nice! Her recommendations on the drinks and food for my husband and I was on point! We had the pleasure to meet one of the managers Chriswho reassured occasionally if things were going well and if we needed anything. The music was also a nice finishing touch andhow ironic was my birthday on a ?TACO TUESDAY? night! I highly recommend this place. I know I will be back!
This place is so cool. Felt like I was at a dance club with an onsite DJ on a Saturday afternoon!! Jamming to great tunes while enjoying a very trendy atmosphere and cool authentic decor. We had a brunch menu but ordered chips and 3 salsas of which myfavorite was the avocado salsa verde. We also enjoyed delicious packed nachos and a very large taco salad. I've been wanting to come here for the longest so i came for my birthday on a Wednesday. The service was sooooo slow and the food was eh. My shrimp tacos had two shrimps in each taco. It was pathetic. We made fun of the place the whole time we werethere. It's cute in the inside and the waiter was nice, but this is Chicago, there are plenty of great places to eat... this isNOT one of them.
The atmosphere is amazing here, super cozy. The chips and salsa was wonderful. We tried the mango, avocado, and jalapeño. They were all fabulous and had a good spicy kick to them. We had spicy skinny margaritas, also delicious. And I got the short ribtacos, with flour tortillas. Overall the food was fantastic, I would highly recommend for some quality food.
Stopped here after walking miles and miles around this beautiful city. The service was good, the cocktails were on point and overall the food was really enjoyable and not too heavy. Sat outside and listened to the sounds of the city. I would recommendand revisit.
