I recently returned to Middlesbrough after many years and Base Camp exceeded all my expectations! They had great music, Wi-Fi, incredibly friendly staff, and the food was amazing. I had the hummus toastie with salad and it was delicious. I regret not taking a photo before devouring it. I can't wait to come back and attend a gig here next time I'm in town. I highly recommend this place. (Review updated on October 16, 2021)
My first time back to Middlesbrough in decades and Base Camp checks all boxes! Great music, Wifi, super friendly staff and amazing food...! (I had the hummus toastia with salad and it was delicious. Gorgeous Lil independent bar and gig venue with excellent food! Kitchen Krashers were in the residence when I choose with many amazing vegan burgers. Everything on the menu can be made vegan, but is all veggie.

Lovely laid back space to escape work for an hour. Food is awesome and the coffee is spot on. This place may even make me enjoy my days at work.

Good place for lunch, a huge bowl of food was freshly served. Colleagues had sandwiches which also looked amazing.

"Ordered good at 5pm. Told an hour for delivery. Checked why it hadn't arrived at 6.45 to be told our order hadn't gone through till. It would be cooked and sent straight out. It's now 7.40 and still no food."

"Good food, Good Service, Good Price. Enough said. It was very humid as no air con, but that did not spoil the dinner. Drinks were cold and very nice."
