Visited here to celebrate a family engagement recently. To begin with the service was quick attentive. However, as the night progressed service become overwhelming and on the side of frustrating. When ordering the waitress disappeared for 5 minutes to figure out what they had...left On return she didn't even say anything just stared blankly. Odd. Once ordered, she then returned and said they didn't have any steaks for the Surf Turf' that was ordered. Weird Unsure how she missed telling us this when she asked the kitchen pre-ordering? Basils is looking great, new chef and new menu are really good and the brunch menu tasty looking and good value. Items such as eggs Benedict, breakfast brunch, breakfast wrap, halloumi sweet chilli wrap and various ciabattas etc there is something for everyone and...the chef is more than happy to Taylor your brunch (also has GF/vegan options) They actually do real hand cut, deep fried chips too! The venue is spotlessly clean and is very Covid efficient. Track and trace in place. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble- even down to changing the play list! my partner and I sung there for her tapas night last night. the menu originally enticed me as every single dish sounded right on my street! and it is sure to say that every dish patterned not disappointed that it was such a tasty bite! the personal. was so friendly and attentive. the menu itself was excellent and there were also good offers on drinks, especially cocktails on 2 for £10! they were also no good. our culinary experience came to say with a crug of sangria what was delicious. we will definitely try again for other tasting menus, but also the regular menu! well made basils! my review is not unique!

Went for lunch today with two friends. Upon arrival found a welcoming friendly atmosphere. Varied menu but the three of us went for the turf and surf burger. It was great to see the open kitchen and the chef plating up our meal. They arrived...beautifully presented on wooden boards. All items were freshly cooked and the boards were sent back empty. A great dining experience. Met by happy and helpful staff. A very relaxed atmosphere. Not rushed but efficient. Good choice of food. Something for everyone. We didn’t try the wine but the drink we had was spot on. The food was excellent. Great quality....Served nice and hot. The steak was superb. Proper hand made chips. Top drawer all round. Will definitely be going back. Would highly recommend.

Visited today for brunch and was really impressed. I chose the traditional English breakfast and for £6 was really surprised at how much good was on the plate. Genuinely one of the nicest full cooked breakfasts I have had. You can tell the meat is...of really good quality and everything was cooked perfectly and was served piping hot. Will definitely be going back again soon.

visited basil’s today and had the best meal. scallops with black pudding and hammered parsnip pure yummmyyyyyyyyyi I didn’t think it could be so good until the beef dinner came out! wow absolutely recommended from me! the staff was very friendly and the cook was. to examine how our courts were. top notch! definitely back!

I had my 50th there on Saturday and it was a cracking little venue, good food and good choice of drinks
