We stayed here last night and had dinner in the restaurant. The rooms are old fashioned in decor but spotlessly clean and perfect for one night. The restaurant has a fantastic view over the valley to Lake Garrabit and the viaduct. The food was delicious,...portion sizes were just right, great service, nice wine selection. We had a cold crayfish and king prawn salad and scallops to start, followed by medallions of pieces of veal with THE best cheesy creamed potato I've ever had, a lovely cheese trolley and then a long list of deserts. Was here with the family for lunch as we were staying in a local camp site. Its really authentic French and the food is amazing. No English is spoken but that just adds to the feel of the place. For the kids meal well I've...never tasted a kids meal like it. If only my and year old appreciated fine cuisine. It was amazing. Our mains of truffade (fried potatoe, bacon in a cream sauce served with local cold hams) also were amazing and the speed it was all served up just added to the quality. Highly highly recommended.

I never tasted a child's meal for the kids. If only my 5 and 3 years old appreciated fine kitchen. It was amazing. Our net of truffade (fried potatoes, bacon served in a cream sauce with local cold ham) were also amazing and the speed it was all served was added to only the quality. Very recommended.

The menu is pleasing, but probably the worst truffade we had from dozens of restaurants that we tried in the last 6 weeks (small part and burnt potatoes). The other dishes on the menu we tried were not made with fresh ingredients. So disappointing food as a whole and our waiter was nice, but completely indescribable, how to use a table looked so rough that even outside teenagers made a comment

Rough, rushed service. Terrible main dish, first glass of wine lousy, and after mentioning it I got another one served in a tiny glass that was less than the normal size. When I mentioned all this at the end, I wasn't even offered the first...glass. I heard later from locals that night that it's been bad for the whole of Don't go there!
