We visited the main bar of the Belair Hotel for their 2 for 1 pizza night last night.We ordered ham and pineapple and bbq chicken. When they arrived only a few minutes after ordering them the bases where over cooked and crispy and the toppings were under done and only just warmed through.The bbq chicken pizza was terribly bland with large chunks of un-seasoned chicken. We got half way thought the pizza trying to work out why it was so bad then realised they had forgotten to put bbq sauce on it. We waived over the waitress who was apologetic and took it back to add some bbq sauce to the remaining slices. We dine here a couple times a year and find it's the perfect spot for eating out with kids (who love it because of the play areas) and it also has delicious food for the adults. We dined here on Saturday night with a booking for 11. We did have a slight wait for someone to come and direct us to our table but as usual the kids meals arrived quickly and then we were able to enjoy our meals. I had the Ancient Grain Salad with added Haloumi - it was amazing! And such a HUGE serve. Everyone else at our table enjoyed their meals too - the curry was really good.Even though the place was packed, the noise was not too bad - we could talk amongst ourselves quite easily and we were seated only a couple...
Took some interstate friends from Qld to the Belair Hotel and wonder what has happened! No ambience, fire not lit, old chips under the table and the noise...staff trying to be heard shouting over the kids screaming and running everywhere. Love kids as we have them but they were climbing over the lounges and there is no separation between a kids play area and the rest of any adult retreat zones. When first renovated it was fantastic and the staf enquired about how you enjoyed your meals...that's all disappeared. Cmon Belair let's get some flowers and candles back on the tables and some ambience back. Fish and chips dry and over cooked with some rocket thrown in top. Gnocchi was nice.
Booked for 20 adults, 2 tables placed very close to kids play area, had young children running around our table, pushing past chairs and yelling out. It was more like being at Mcdonalds or Hungry Jacks. There are signs in the restaurant asking for parents to control their children but obviously this does not happen or is enforced by staff we asked to be shifted to another table and had to wait until another was free.. We are locals to this place and we have visited a good few times . On the whole we have always had a good meal , service was good and pleasant atmosphere. It can be noisy in the bistro areas near the children's playground . So when our kids were small this was great but now we like to sit in the Main bar which tends to be quieter
My husband had the schnitzel and said it's the best he's had for a while. I had the crab stir fry. Good serving of crab but too much rice hidden under the vegetables. More like a family restaurant as it was very loud with lots of kids. Might try the front bat next time but they had limited seating for diners.
My friends and I visited here last minute on a Saturday night and surprisingly got a table as we heard it is usually quite busy! Our meals were good, not amazing. Wait time wasn't too bad considering how packed it was. I would go back to try a different meal, but perhaps a less busy night!
We waited ages for the meals to come fair enough was very busy... Meals very disappointed, my snitty was sitting next to only 12 chips, that's ridiculous and plate looked empty how that is allowed to leave the kitchen? Won't be back for the next family celebration Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We have been here many times, always good food, good service, good wine and lots of entertainment for the kids, one of the family favourites
