The food was absolutely delicious! The fried pickles were a fun appetizer, and the Caesar salad came in a cheesy bowl, which was a delightful surprise. The crab cakes were the best we’ve ever had, surpassing even those we’ve tried during family visits in Florida. The dominant flavor was surprisingly the crab itself, rather than the cake. So tasty! The crab cakes were accompanied by perfectly cooked asparagus and what I believe was Parmesan risotto—whatever the cheese was, it was fantastic. We also indulged in their sole dessert, butterscotch banana pudding, which was the perfect size for sharing and also incredibly delicious. While we were waiting, one couple got extremely upset and started using foul language over the wait, which was unfortunate. Honestly, you don’t want that kind of negativity in a dining environment. On the positive side, Jimmy, Rachel, and the rest of the staff, including the owner, offered excellent service, great drinks, and the food was simply FANTASTIC! So, my advice is to be patient if you have to wait to be seated at this restaurant—it’s absolutely worth it for the amazing meal. And please, be kind to your wait staff; they are really working hard to ensure you have a great experience.
I had dinner solo at the bar and had a fantastic experience. The service was outstanding from everyone at the front and behind the bar. I really enjoyed watching the owners expertly prepare each dish in the kitchen—it offered a great view. I ordered a cup of French onion soup and a parmesan garlic fried chicken sandwich with hand-cut fries, which could have easily fed two people. I paired it with two local IPAs. This restaurant really hits all the right notes: delicious food, local options, genuinely friendly staff, and an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and refined.
My first time here. There was a small order mistake with my plate, but I don't care, we are all human beings. The French onion soup as an appetizer was delicious and so savory. I got the classic burger, it was cooked as ordered, tasted good, nice and juicy like a good burger should be. My date got the honey glazed salmon and boy I wish I ordered that because it tasted amazing!! Presentation was good. Flavor on point. I had a wonderful experience with both the food and service at this restaurant. They offer a nice selection of local beers, as well as wine and cocktails. I highly recommend the crabcake sandwich and the burger – they were both fantastic for lunch. Don’t forget to try the frickles! There's outdoor seating available, although the street view isn't very inspiring at the moment. Inside, the atmosphere is cozy and stylish, with low lighting that adds to the vibe.
I'm very glad I decided to try this restaurant. The bartender was outstanding, managing the entire dining room on her own while providing exceptional service. The restaurant itself is beautiful, featuring pleasant music and a wonderful atmosphere, along with clean restrooms. I ordered the Texan burger and it was one of the best I've ever tasted; their cheesy potatoes are also definitely worth trying. I’m excited to visit this place again!
I'm really glad I decided to try this place. The bartender was exceptional, managing the entire dining room on her own, and the service was outstanding. I deducted a star because I specifically searched for a kid-friendly atmosphere. While it had high ratings for that, they don't offer a kids' menu, and it's not really a place suited for children. This charming little restaurant is fantastic! Their version of a Reuben sandwich is amazing. I also tried the fried pickles, which were delicious and served in generous portions. The service was incredibly friendly. It's a lovely gastropub that Roanoke should definitely take pride in.
