Not your usual Indian restaurant. I was meeting some friends in this area and we decided to eat, Maps showed me this place with an interesting name, I looked at their menu and was instantly intrigued! An hour later, we had ordered and ate so much food, and enjoyed every single bite! I was shocked by how lamb-like the fake lamb tasted, it was so good. Samosa were fresh and handmade, perfectly balanced amount of stuffing and crunch. We also ordered the Dabeli paratha and Paresh’s paratha. Creative and authentic at the same time. One is filled with cheese, the other is topped with a orchestra of spices in peanut sauce. I also love that they had the parathas served as 3 smaller parathas instead...
Organized a graduation dinner (tasting menu) for my wife and family at Besharam and every guest left disappointed with the experience.Pros1. Food: Most dishes tasted good in the set tasting menu, especially the vada!Cons1. Service: Despite the tasting menu including unlimited rotis and rice, the waiter hesitated to bring more when asked. Ok so I was super confused at how this place only has 4 stars. Out of curiosity I took a look at the lowest reviews people complaining about the service mostly and others complaining about the very clear cancellation policy. LOL. If you're looking for the best Indian food you've ever ate try this place out. Growing up Indian I've had Indian food throughout all of California, numerous other states, and India itself many times. Nothing compares to this. Complaining about the service is hilarious. We couldn't get a reservation but showed at around six. There were some empty tables but were told we couldn't be seated and that the waitlist was 1 hour. We walked around the minnesota project (art installations) and checked back after 20-25 mins since we still saw empty tables. Asking a second time, we got seated immediately. We ordered things to share. We got the drunken pain puri, roti, ringan no oro, dal makani, cheesy garlic naan, kheema bati, and cheesecake. Amazing delicious food. Vegetarian/ vegan with many gluten free options. Loved the mango salad, dal dhokli, malai koftas, sakkar salad and samosas. Should have done another order of the cheesy garlic naan, it was amazing. The meat eaters at the table were particularly impressed with the plant based vindaloo meat balls. Everything we tried was incredible, second time here and will definitely be back for more. Also had a great cocktail selection, I have the mumtaz and loved it. The chai and mango lassi were also superb. 11/10
Fantastic food, and great service. Cocktails were really good. My personal favorite was Right Above it. Have you ever dipped a Parle G biscuit in a cocktail that tastes like masala chai? Me neither.Cheesy garlic naan was the highlight from the food. It was more like a pizza. Maska paneer was also amazing. I definitely recommend trying the dessert. The Shrikhand cheesecake was very unique.
Though this place is stark at first appearance, it's staff and food will supply all the color and vibrancy you'll need. The pop up collab with Hilda and Jesse (North Beach) was amazing. Enough spice without it over powering the senses. A lot of new flavors to explore and some familiar ones to keep you grounded. Can't wait to come back and try the a la carts menu.
Expensive but awesome food! During covid, we sat outside cozy patio dining! Enjoyed a few cocktails all unusual taste ! Highly recommend
