I agree with the reviewers that state how awful the staff is at this location. We had our puppy with us and went in to grab some coffee. While we were waiting for the coffee this rude lady said we had to wait outside if we had a dog (tiny dog). I said we are just waiting for our coffee and leaving. She said no you need to leave now I said ok will you bring our coffee outside to us? With a smirk said no, one of you can wait here and the other can stand outside. Yeah right! I understand if we were sitting down then fine but we were just waiting to get our coffee. Amazing coffee. Great vibes setting. Only feedback for owners: Weekend staff needs an attitude check. 5 min before close, I pay for an espresso. But because they’re *about* to close, they can’t give me the coffee in a ceramic cup. Guys, I know you want to go home but it’s still business hours and you’re serving a customer. Don’t be entitled. Anyway, after I begged, he said “fine I’ll get you your ceramic cup…”. Cool bro, thanks, have a great weekend! Anyway the coffee is too good so I’ll be back but probably not 5 minutes before close.
I like to order my coffee/croissant online through the Odeko app. It’s a very convenient pick up service. But often they forget to put a plain croissant in the App. I came there today and said that I couldn’t order a plain croissant through the App since they didn’t put it there . I expected them to do it right away they usually do it. But today i was told to go and wait in line in order to buy it. I was very surprised. Their service is normally good. I left the shop and went to a different coffee shop to get what I wanted.
I've been visiting Birch on the Upper West Side for the past four years, and I absolutely love it. The coffee is fantastic, and the ambiance is perfect. However, what truly makes this coffee shop special is the staff. I can't praise them enough. Caleb, in particular, is exceptional—he always takes the time to ask about my day, and we've built a wonderful rapport. I genuinely enjoy coming here! A shoutout as well to Christian, JJ, and Joe! I absolutely love the staff here! The coffee is excellent, and I really enjoy the lending library as well. My only criticism is that they might be almost too good. I'm referring specifically to this location. It's become difficult to enjoy coffee at other places now. It’s like how Prince's ex said it was hard to date after him because he was so exceptional. Anyway, I'm a big fan of the Espresso Tonic!
Everything is fine, but the male employee was weird. He didn't ask me if I was going to eat it or just gave me a croissant without heating it. And I was sitting and drinking coffee when he told the customers in the store that it was due in 20 minutes. Except for me.lol im asian. He is asian too. What's worng with him? I've never done this before.
My bf ordered lots of food with his computer to spend some time in a cafe yesterday. They only told him after he bought everything that he needed to leave because they close at 4pm
