What a delightful surprise to stumble upon such a fantastic little gem off the beaten path! The service was prompt and friendly, always delivered with a smile. We ordered the salmon served with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes, and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The salmon complemented the delicious veggies and potatoes beautifully. For our second dish, we tried the shrimp and grits, which happens to be one of my all-time favorites. Having sampled shrimp and grits at many restaurants, I can confidently say that these were among the best I've ever had. While we enjoyed our meal, we even mentioned our intent to return just for those shrimp and grits again. Excellent job!
We met up with friends at St. George, which is perfectly situated halfway for all of us. It was a lovely experience! We spent a few hours on the patio, and everyone enjoyed their meals. Our server was very attentive, and we even had some free entertainment from a mockingbird that dive-bombed anyone who walked by. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that one of our group tripped on the dimly lit stairs leading from the patio to the inside. A light, some fluorescent tape, or a “watch your step” sign would be really helpful.
Bistro 221 is a wonderful discovery! The decor is amazing, and everyone in my group really liked the impressive brick wall. We celebrated our 2023 graduate with a delightful brunch and mimosas. The food was outstanding, featuring stone-ground grits with shrimp or fried fish, and the French toast was wonderfully light and fluffy. My nephew particularly enjoyed the chicken and waffles, and the mimosas were full of flavor as well. The service was exceptional from start to finish—thank you, Emma!
Fantastic meals with a modest but focused menu featuring wonderfully fresh ingredients and skillfully prepared seafood. The atmosphere leans more towards a pub vibe than what the cuisine might imply. A suggestion: perhaps the other dining room could benefit from tablecloths and the absence of a TV? Just a thought. This place could be a hidden gem off the interstate, offering a reason to stop in town beyond just shopping at the charmingly quaint Weeks' clothing store. Food rating: 4. What a delightful discovery in this small town! Just a short 2-mile drive from I-95, it's definitely worth the detour. I tried the quesadillas, which were excellent, and the salad dressing is homemade. Plus, they are dog-friendly! We enjoyed our meal on the spacious outdoor patio with our furry friend. The waitstaff were very welcoming, and the owner even came out to say hello. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!
Courtney was our server, and she was fantastic—truly the best service we've experienced! She handled my energetic kids wonderfully. The food was outstanding; I especially loved the sweet potato fries, and my kids enjoyed the mac and cheese. Passing through town and stopped in because of the great ratings. Food was decent, but over salted. Got the pimento burger with fried pickles and quesadilla.
