Yesterday I visited Bittersweet to order a cake for my friend's 50th birthday. Although the cakes looked appealing, I was informed that they do not accept orders on the spot and advised to return the next day or call ahead. I was assured that I could order any cake I desired with a 20-minute decorating time. Today, after finding the phone number advertised on Facebook was disconnected, I visited the shop in person only to discover they did not have the cake I wanted in the necessary size. This left me unable to order a cake elsewhere due to time constraints. Instead, I was offered the option to purchase two smaller cakes at a significantly higher cost. Overall, a disappointing experience.
When Bittersweet opened its doors in Mosman Park in a veritable coffee wasteland I was very excited - and I haven't been disappointed. The coffee is smooth with a hint of bitterness which goes superbly with the fantastic friands or any of the flavoursome cakes or pastries. I have tried every cake and I have not been disappointed by any, although my waistline is suffering.To top it off, the staff are friendly and professional.There is no indoor seating, but that doesn't stop us from going there come rain or shine. A regular stop while walking the dog, and for a Saturday morning catch-up.Mosman Park is a great part of the world to live in and Bittersweet is just the icing on the cake.
OMG! This is little more than a hole in the wall in a quiet suburban shopping strip but talk about punching above your weight!!I think the owner is a French trained pâtissier. That's what the people around here told me, anyway, and having tasted various pastries, breads, croissants and cakes, I have no reason to doubt it. Everything is just right, with great attention to detail and obviously nothing but the finest ingredients. I would travel across the city for this quality of food. Thankfully, I only need to cross the road. If it becomes too popular then I'll regret posting this, but credit where it's due. The coffee is good too. Praise be!
Superb cakes, beautifully conceived and decorated. Tiny, hole-in-the-wall bakery / patisserie specialising in galumptious tarts, cakes and breads. A favourite of tradies and locals alike for great takeaway coffee, sandwiches and muffins. Perfect place to order and buy a special event cake. No seating except for a few stools outside. Closed on Sundays and Mondays, but open from 6:30am Tuesday - Saturday.

This tiny suburban outlet couldn't survive just serving take away coffees, I believe they have a thriving commercial business too, supplying other outlets with top end cakes and slices.Anyway, I go there almost daily and have never been disappointed, coffee is first class as is everything else there; friendly and efficient service, top quality produced-on-premises products.Highly recommended.
The coffees at this restaurant are fantastic and the cakes are incredible! There is a limited selection of muffins and bagels, but everything they offer is top-notch. You can choose to take away your order or relax in one of the few outdoor seating options.
Open at 6.30am for coffee, cake and lunches! Always wonderful freinze. Delicious cakes and pastries, fresh French bread sticks. Open Tuesday to Saturday. They have won many awards, that are richly deserved.
Coffees are wonderful. Incredible cakes! A few Muffins, bagels available but not a massive choice. But what they do, they do very very well. Takeaway or can sit on one of the few outdoor chairs.
