I have been going to Black Pearl for years, since I was a kid.They recently changed the menu and the selections are really limited. The food was great, but they really shot themselves in the foot with the new menu. There is nothing special about the dishes, it’s your basic food for high prices. They got rid of what was unique and great about The Black Pearl and replaced it with the same stuff you can find at any restaurant in town. I miss the old menu and prices.
We were told the clam chowder was amazing and we agree. The chowder was excellent and we also enjoyed the pretzel with cheese dip appetizer. The scallops with fried brussel sprouts were excellent. We dined early so the restaurant was relatively quiet, but the wharf area was bustling in the evening and the restaurant is clearly a busy place during peak dining hours.
Everything was great. Cozy and warm atmosphere, attentive and kind service and good food. The only thing that took away from the experience was a table of loud women next to my daughter and me, complaining of money and relationship woes which couldn’t be prevented.
The service and food was excellent. The chicken was cooked to perfection. We dined inside in the dining room near the bar. It was lovely as it was a Friday night. The atmosphere was New England pub-like. We loved it! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
This is the 4 th or 5 th time here this summer. The clam chowder was better, less potatoes more clams this time. Our guest shrimp was not de-veined was rubbery. He could not eat it. The waiter was hard to find.
To be served previously frozen shrimp cocktail was only the beginning. Didn’t live up to it’s reputation at all!
Good was good. The patio was very noisy. There seems to be a slippery spot where someone in our party fell.
